I've now been around 5 months with HostGator.com with the Baby package. 2GB space and 20GB bandwith/month for $9,99.

I must say i am very satisfied with their customer support. They support all message programs like AOL and MSN. And they actually do have an 24/7 MSN support open, for real. I found out that the Live Chat persons knew alot less then the Tech support on MSN or email.

As to my knowledge i had 2 times a downtime (tracked by siteuptime.com). I think the connection with the server is sometimes a bit slow. Download speeds going at 50 ~ 60 kb/s with a 140kb/s connection happens very often. Sometimes i even get 15kb/s while my connection is correct and is able to do more.

Well.. i'm not very good at writing reviews but anyway, the conclusion is:

HostGator.com is a great host with good support. For the average user is the perfect choice. Sometimes bit slow connections but the support compensates that.

I'll cast my pro Hostgator vote again. :)

9 months and 20 days now and I can't find them a fault. They react fast to things and the server is up unless something out of their direct control affects it (wild script or DOS attack). In such situations all that a host can do is deal with it properly, which is exactly what they do. And yes, whenever I needed support I've contacted them by MSN and someone was there everytime.

That's a very fair review, Manne. I'm glad you're pleased with your choice overall.

I've had very good speeds from day one. The customers to whom I resell have expressed immense appreciation for the quickness and reliability they've received, and everyone seems to really like CPanel too. I might just happen to be on a particularly good server, but my experience with their customer service is as good as yours, and coupled with the speed and uptime I've received, I can't imagine I'll leave them until I'm ready to go dedicated. And even then...

Are you on a cable connection? Is so that's most likely the reason to slow upload or downloads. Cable connections share with everyone local to you. Meaning the more people online the slower your connection is. Next time things are going slow for you give us a call and ask for Brent. I'll help you figure out what's going on.

it maybe has something to do that i am in Europe. I dont have a cable connection. I hope its that i live in europe because Hostgator is great :)

Alright guys, its been several years when I have gone through several hosts out there. I have been very displeased with most of them and that is why I've been moving on to so many. My last host was terrible homelanxtreme.com I don't want to even go there. Anyways so I stumbled on to hostgator.com one day and did a little research on them. Found some well enough reviews to make them a reliable company and their hosting plans are just pretty damn good for the price.

So I decided to give them a try and so far been with them for about 5 months now. I can tell you this is by far one of the best host I've ever been with. They actually do give you 24/7 support literally, I mean they are on AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, MSN, whatever you use for your convience and always helps and resolves conflict in time. Their reliability as well, I've only noticed 1 downtime and that was only for about 18 minutes for some maintenance upgrade. If anyone out there is looking for a reliable host, with great pricing, and excellent service and customer support...I strongly recommend hostgator

hehe that was probably my fault :D

Also one thing I noticed was that some people saying something about the download speeds in this thread. I'd like to say that with normal high speed connection, you can get speeds of up to 300kb/s on hostgator's servers.....Even more if you have a better connection. But speed is definetly not a problem with HostGator's services.

Well it seems that HostGator.com is doing an excellent job, plenty of pleased customers.
