Hi,

I am currently buying my domains with an enom reseller and I know he has complete control over my domains so I am concerned about this:

Can he change all the contacts to him and steal my domains? what will prevent him from doing that? or pointing my domains to a parking page and tell my that if I don't pay xxxxx $ he will not point them to my site again?

I know enom will not do it, they have a reputation to maintain, but what about a simple reseller? anyone can be reseller and when this person have many domains start blackmailing his clients...

Just my concern...

Thanks,

Thanks,

If you think that the guy there is trying to cheat you and you are suspicious then don't go with them. It's as simple as that, use a well known registar, such as godaddy, or tucows etc...

hm this is a interesting question...if this is true than if you by accident register a 3 letter com (aab.com) domain and someone who works for lets say Joker.com likes the domain he could simply change the contact info and take over the domain. I cant belieive that there is no such thing as central DB at internic.com or Icaan so you can prove that you are actuall owner of the domain...?

well, the question is, is there any possibility that registrar steals the domain(s).

Yes...even GoDaddy or Network Solutions or whatever it is...because they have the complete control on your domain(s).

Do not forget...buying a domain means buying a "trust". If you feel that you cannot trust your registrar..then do not buy any domain at all.

Do not worry..choose your regsitrar...buy it and enjoy the domain(s). :)
