I was wondering if I could get any comment on phpwebhosting.com?

Anyone have had good/bad experiences there?

Go there if you want lots of downtime, unanswered tech support emails, false "unlimited space" (unlimited=200MB, hehe)... and just use the search button in these forums for more.

Advice: STAY AWAY / IGNORE

P.S. why do you write the url on the subject? you shouldn't do that

hello... don't feel to bad...

i don't see anything wrong with writing url's in titles... :) i think we should all worry about more important things... like how to come up with cash to upgrade my design software... photoshop 6 looks might good to me!

yeah it does doesn't it. *lol* Still I'm starting to think it's getting a little too big. I'm using PS 5.02 and the upgrades seem to add extra stuff I'll never use like image ready. With all the Macromedia stuff I own I think I'll stay with what I have *chuckle*

akashik .. humm.. I love PS6 .. come on you gotta love beeing able to write the text directly in the image (Instead of using the seocond window) .. and few other improvements :)

hey that actually sounds like a good idea. At this rate I may stand corrected on the issue :)

PS6 is a bit more 'vectorial' than other vrsiosn of PS. The lines that you make are in vector.

I have to disagree though, I prefered the old way to write text... because if you moved the text window, you could see the text wirtten as well. Now you have to bother with it being on the page directly and it can't be moved :P

Oh well :)

i'm all for macromedia products, but i'm just used to illustrator/photoshop combo...

i remember being particularly annoyed that the illustrator 9 upgrade was a HUGE one compared to the 8 upgrade... and l'il ol me is stuck with 8...

with the release of dreamweaver 4, all my software is officially out of date! (that's okay though, 4's not big enough an upgrade to justify the cost... i think... :) )

I am hosting with them right now. But, I am looking for a new web host. They are good, but they have problems with downtime, which is not good. I have been with them for about 6 months and have never had any problems besides downtime. I have used their support only once and I got a response within 24 hrs. They recently upgraded their control pannel and I think their support team too. But, they are not an A+ host because of the downtime problems.

Thanks again for all your advice.

I have also been looking at http://www.site5.com
Anybody have had any experiences with them?
I did a search on them here but all I could get was posts from site5 (Im guessing one of site5's employees).
Anyway, they look pretty solid and I went through their discussion boards and people seem pretty upset at one of their servers lately. Anyone here know whats going on?

Antonio,

Most of the Site5 posts you've seen 'from an employee' will be from Matt, one of their head guys ;) Apparently one of their servers has been having stability problems in the last 2 months or so. As of the last two weeks however it's been behaving itself and seems to be fine now.

I believe there are posts elsewhere in WHT on the efficacy of keeping a sledgehammer leaning against malingering boxes...
