Is it possible to make chmod (or whatever it's called in FTP) enabled for FTP users. So permissions can be changed without having logging in to the shell.

With WS_FTP, right click on the file or directory and goto CHMod. Adriaan 01-28-2002, 01:21 PM I know how to do it in the client ;) It says "CHMOD not allowed" (even loggin using 'admin') Adriaan l3ean 04-26-2004, 05:54 PM I use cpanel x and i don't see anywhere in cpanel to modify permissions except for what directory they root access. One of my admins made a script, uploaded it into their specified directory and executed it!!! This gave him access to everything!!! How do i stop this??? l3ean 04-26-2004, 05:57 PM if it says chmodd not allowed then your host has disabled this. You probably have a free host or cheap host. No offense. If so then consider reading up your ftpd software docs. Also you might want to tweak Umask to something else so they don't have to use chmod. |
