Hi folks,

I did full backup in Cpanel, and transfer the backup files to a remote server.

After succesfully transfered. I use WHM to restore the backup on the new server.

Now, it's quite strange that, the restored data is much bigger than the original.

An account was 88 meg, on the new server, it's 252 meg.
An account was 25 meg, on the new server, it's 72 meg.

No tar.gz files in the account's directory.

So, could anyone advise me on what takes the extra disk space?

Thank you!

It is possible that the account was not the correct size on the old server.

Hi Steve,

I have restored at least two accounts, and they are all bigger than the original. So I wonder this is not just about the correctly size or not?

Thank you. :)

Most likely the backups are still on the server.

ls -la /home | grep cpmove

What do you see?

Oh yeah! It's about the backup files. :-)

Yup, not only cpmove but also the backup files itself.

Now the problem is resolved. Thank you Nickn!

It's under the backup heading, about the 6th section down from the top. If you're a reseller, you will not have this setting though.
