Ok, im venting my anger over the idiots of the world that do nothing more than browse for porn in company time.
Im an IT consultant and go to companies computer systems when im not at GM and recently ive been experiencing more and more stupid people that use their companies system to browse for porn.
It all started a month or so ago when I visited a computer at a company, it was their system that acted as a proxy/firewall to protect the rest of their network from viruses and idiots trying to hack into their system that got infected initially, then the rest of the network started showing signs.
When I installed the system I made the machines nice and secure, well the Managing Director of the comopany found himself unable to browse "certain sites" that he wanted to after I had finished the configuration and he decided the only way he could browse them would be to use the proxy/firewall machine to do so instead, so on he went, being the only person that knew the login password entered the computer and hey presto he could get to his cherished sites, ALL porn sites!
Well the guy was having a field day from what I seen in his history list and temporary internet files!
then looking at his file structure, c:\dialiers full of "hardcore sex" dialers, c:\winnt\ full of virus riddled files and scripts, Downloaded Program Files full of activex controls.
Ive never seen a single machine thats meant to be the hub of their internet security riddled with so much crap in my life!!
I spent a good 4 hours cleaning it up, reinstalling and making sure they didnt loose any more information off their other servers, then they had the cheek to say I was taking too long.
Pfft, it just plain annoys me how stupid people can be!

Just to cap it off, almost the same thing happened again last week, smaller system but the guys in the office thought nobody would notice because they had been told how to empty the temp internet files and history, little did they know that they also have to get rid of the cookies aswell :D
Anger vented, its probably going to happen again with someone else next week and I still get paid for their stupidity but hey, it still annoys me.
