Is there any way to start a thread that would be a sticky and it would have info about some of the top recommended dedicated hosts out there? i am just looking for a good host as I am with AIT right now and i am sick of them. Yesturday they took 9 hours to simply reboot my server. I see 15minuteservers has a web interface reboot which would be nice, but can anyone comment on a few good hosts? I personally am looking for <$70/month but dont limit the recommendations to that for the sake of others.

*edit* oh and windows 2003 for that price if possible.

Windows 2003 for less than 70$?.
You might find some. But don't count on great support for that price...
Check out www.tomsyer.net
Cheapest is 58$/month i think. (Without Win2k3. A bit more then.)

You can go with managed.com, but you can count, what its unsupported service. You have to write 4 letters and after last wait 12 hours. Then... you'll get reply(with half question answered)
Or chose Tom... Its a bit better

I worry that FDC is like AIT for some reason. to be honest i havent had the worst time with AIT but since its been needing reboots for some odd reason, it just scares me to think what might happen if it does die, how will i get my data and all that. (I do remote backups now just to be safe) I wish i made the money to get a good server but i'm going to ahve to settle for now, thanks for the heads up guys.

You might want to get a quote from turnkeyresellers.com since they are getting some pretty good reviews from their users. bliksemhosting.com is not too shabby either... :D

be very careful when leaving AIT they'll continue to charge you and you should review your contract carefully there is probably a penalty for leaving see http://www.aitsucks.com/

Now THAT'S an exit strategy... charge them when they come in, charge them when they go out!
