Hi
What is actually IP to country database?
A database which has entries of all the IPs in the world corresponding to the countries associated. Right?

1. How do they get updated?
2 .Why do people charge money for this database.
3. I go for a new registration of a domain. It will be updated what time in the database?
4. I go for a new internet connection and still after 10 minutes these sites can tell my location
Can anyone answer these questions
Thanks

IPs are assigned in large blocks, usually tens of thousands at a time, so the database is much smaller than you may think. IP allocations are readily, if not freely, available, but not in a simple IP->country format. The registration information includes the city and country for the organization, so you can use that to tie an IP to a country.

1. By hand, basically, as new allocations come and go.
2. See point 1
3. Not a domain thing -- IP block based.
4. Again, the IP block was probably allocated long before you signed up for service, so I'm surprised it took 10 minutes.
