I remember awhile back in a post here that someone mentioned of another alternative (free) to FreeVSD that was in the works, however I cant for the life of me locate the thread through searching nor can I remember the name of it. Can anyone help me refresh my memory??

It was a thread somewhere along the lines that FreeVSD was becoming a commercialized product but someone else was taking the code and reworking it so that it remained open source? I Looked through all the searches I could think of here and tried source forge also but with no luck, any help would be aprreciated!!

Its not vishwaKarma, or vhost.

Something like openvsd? I am not sure either. You can search the freevsd list archive, I am sure its mentioned somewhere in there.

My opinion of it, though I am sure some will disagree is that openvsd is a waste. They do not have very much up at their site on source forge. Mainly a lot of people viewed they were getting screwed by Idaya(which from what a few said, some of them were) and they attempted to start it. My opinion. Go with freevsd. It works, its stable more or less. Right now my systems are all set I am just finishing the documentation.

ckpeter,

That was the one I was looking for (OpenVSD). Although it seems to not be very active and still using the old version of freeVSD. I may have to rethink the freeVSD thing or perhaps just do it with FreeBSD. Thanks for the help!!

David am interested to know if you ran into much problems while implementing freevsd. Am very much interested in it and about to get a box to start using it. I had done a test run and ran into so many conflicts..using RH7.2. Any ideas? Pointers? links.? :)
