I want to host reseller accounts on a dedicated server. What are my options?

How do I go about offering Ensim private server accounts, and how many private servers can I fit on a 1ghz 528meg ram 40gig hard drive server? What would be my cost per Ensim license?

What other options are there? Ideally I'd like to offer something similar to mchost.com , but I'd settle for offering something like shanje.com.

What server can I use? Ideally I'd like to use a rackshack Raq4 server, but I am not limited to Cobalt.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it still the case that the rackshack Ensim box still has no reseller capability?

I dont think you should really be offering reseller plans unless you know what you are doing, its other peoples businesses you have in your hands.

I appreciate your comment, however unless I'm mistaken you seem to imply that I shouldn't even start to learn how to offer reseller accounts. I'm confident that my team of programmers and designers can learn what is needed, and this forum seems a great place to start and I hope it will greatly reduce the learning curve.

I understand that I would be competing direcly with your company if I get this going. If you like we could talk about working together. My team is based in Bali, and work for cheap. Perhaps we could trade work and expertise for our mutual benefit. In any case we will be moving forward, as best we can.

I am willing to trade a reseller account or private server account to one person who offers a suggestion that I use for this project. I'd offer hosting and some bandwidth for 1 year on my server. I could offer about 3 gigs of hard drive space and give out 3 gigs per month traffic, with additional traffic being at my cost of $2.95/gig. I don't offer to pay for any licenses in return for info, but I can offer some sort of hosting and bandwidth on my linux server.

My current strategy is to use existing scripts for now, and then work to develop a CP product that has reseller capabilities. I'm hoping to work with people on this forum to achieve both ends.

Team hum ? ;) .. you forget you are preaching to the devil here.

If indeed that's what you want to do, then give, I mean have your team give the folks at Ensim a call, and have them walk you thru setting up reseller account or VPN's.

(You will need to have the Exchange server from ensim to offer VPN accounts .. cost .. 5K)

Thanks for the Ensim pricing information. I don't have anywhere near the budget for that solution. Is Plesk less expensive for offering reseller accounts?

As regards my team, at this point I have only one programmer and 7 designers, but I can hire more programmers as required. At my costs I would expect that it would be cheaper for me to develop than to license. Ideally of course we can get a bunch of talented, experienced and mildly disgruntled programmers from this forum to help put together a kick-ass program that can compete on the marketplace. We'd not only save ourselves the licensing fees, but would share in the profits for years to come.

I would prefer to sell such a program for a one time fee that could be paid for in installments, and offer 24 hour cheap fee based support from our office in Bali. I am willing to pay for up to two full time programmers and full use of all of our designers for this endeavor if others will manage the project. It shouldn't be hard to create a legal document for profit sharing to create a virtual software company.

I would recommend Hsphere for reseller hosting , it can be run from a single server to an unlimited number of servers. It also does your billing and reseller billing. It also allows you to host VPS's. It is the total package for serious hosting businesses.
