I'd like to personally announce that I am hereby boycotting the Logitech company for developing infrared mice that are so DAMNED addictive to use. I can actually point at stuff without shaking the rodent every five minutes (although that's a habit I'm finding hard to break) and this web wheel dealy in the centre...a man can get used to that pretty quickly ya know.
I mean...this is a MOUSE dammit! A $50 (CDN) mouse! How the heck can ya get addicted to a MOUSE?!?!?!??!
(Oh yeah, and you can use the glowing red sensor inside the transparent casing as a flashlight just in case your computer's near your bed and you turned off all your lights and don't want to trip. Cool deal.)

Heh, yea I recently took the big plunge and replaced my mouse (ball type) with a cheapo $10 one (optical) and so far I've been very happy.

$10? You dang varmint hillbilly Americans git everthang cheap, dontchas? :D
Seriously, I've been surprised by this thing. They don't have the $10 US ($16 Canadian or thereabouts) optical ones here so I had to get a brand name one.
Noticed something really weird about it too: if Windows goes into BSOD mode (which with me happens at least once a day...something to do with me having 17 or 18 programs open simultaneously :D) then the sensor on the mouse itself goes brighter and darker (normally they only get brighter when you move them right?) WUSSUPWITDAT?

I think you just flew way off topic with that last post. Poke the search button and you'll find plenty of threads about it.

I have a MS Intellimouse Explorer (for the laptop) here that's been going strong for over 2 years now. I love this thing. Someone mentioned the wheel? They are very addicitve. Now when I'm at a library (for example) using a mouse without a wheel I find myself scratching at where the wheel should be. I almost never use a browsers scroll bar anymore.
My desktop's got a ball mouse which is about to get replaced. I had to open it up and scrape out some grunge to get it to run smoothly again last week. I gave up doing that, so the mouse is about to go in the bin

I have a Wacom Tablet... I must say, it ROCKS! I have a wireless, cordless mouse that came with it.

I'm exactly the same! My fingers often inadvertantly look for a wheel (when I'm not at home), and they don't find one!

Scroll...bar? Speak English! :)
Seriously, I would like to apologize for misposting my earlier comment. I had two browser windows open at once and got mixed up.
I was doing that with my mouse last week too and somehow when I did it, Windows would no longer detect it. Now if it were anyone BUT me, that would probably be a rarity. But because I'm me...heh strange stuff happens. ;)
