View Full Version : Getting desperate.
Mythyn 10-21-2004, 09:10 PM Hello everyone.
I hope you can help me because I'm getting very sick of hosting companies now. :kaioken:
I started on hostradius.com which was an exellent host. However, they told me I was exeeding my bandwitch quota. I upgraded but the price was getting too high for my pocket money so I moved.
I went on Fuitadnet.com. I pre-payed 3 months and I'll never do that again. They were taking ages to reply to support tickets and I allways had 'Too many conexions' errors on my php/mysql scripts.
So I tryed to move to pixiehost.com. When I ordered I got a error message telling the order was fraudulant ( ). So I ask for support on their forums. Since it tooks ages to get a reply, I decided to go someplace else.
Then I tryed serverprice.com. :( Why on earth did I do that? right now, I am having a problem I've never heard of...plus they don't reply to support tickets and I can't connect to the ftp. So I posted a support ticket asking my money back... I'm waiting for a reply...
Since I decided to ask my money back on serverprice.com, I searched for a new host again. :bawling: (I can't take it anymore...I would like to see my site back online...:( ) I have found surfspeedy.com. I contacted them before ordering and their support is great. Everything looked okay with them so I tryed to order their silver reseller plan. Guess what? My order was, once again, considered as fraudulant.
I don't understand... How come it's so hard to find a reliable, not to high priced host. I need 4 GB of space and at least 60 GB of bandwitch, reseller account with WHM/cpanel. I cannot pay more than 30 $ (well perhaps a litle bit more but not much...) - oh and no setup fee if possible...or if there's one, it shouldn't make the cost go higher than 30$ with the monthly price...-. I would like a quality hosting company.
My site has been offline for over a month now because of the problems I had and I can't stand it anymore. Can someone help?
Thanks you very much.
GoogleBot 10-21-2004, 09:25 PM Hello,
You seem to mention your order being declined due to being fraudulant, did you ask the host exactly what the problem was with your credit card? I know with 2checkout, they will tell you.
If you are looking for a new host, why not try submiting the Host Quote form?
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/request.php
Hope that helps you.
beyondego 10-21-2004, 09:27 PM Sounds like you didn't know when you were well off with HostRadius if you want an honest opinion.
You moved from a host becasue you didn't want to pay their excess bandwidth charges to someone cheaper and you got a lower level of support. SHOCK. Or not.
If you have a busy site you're going to have to pay a sensible amount per month to host it.
cywkevin 10-21-2004, 10:08 PM This is 30 bucks a month right?

Sad we have to ask that now days
PogiWeb 10-21-2004, 10:30 PM From the looks of it from changing from a reliable host to a bunch of unreliable host you lost more money then you would of keeping with the host that actually was good! Sometimes you have to pay a little bit more to get a little bit more! Best of Luck!
NS-Addict 10-21-2004, 11:28 PM Since the fraudulent incident occurred more than once have you tried to contact your card supplier or the hosting company with regards to why the card is showing up as fraudulent?
Host Quote and Host Voice allow you to select a host with the exact requirements you need. Basically you fill in a form with various drop-down/check boxes. Submit and within about a week you will be contacted with a number of hosts that meet those requirements - just choose the best host from the list that contact you and you are good to go.

muppet 10-21-2004, 11:34 PM I would check out www.xeocomm.com
I have been hosting with them without problems for awhile now
ldcdc 10-21-2004, 11:50 PM From what I read, if I were you I would go back to Hostradius. You enjoyed your time there and 60Gb for $35 isn't that far from your target of $30. I mean... are $5 that important?
Mythyn 10-22-2004, 12:07 AM well you know 5$ it's not that much I agree but when you don't have these 5$...well you can't say you'll pay 35$ if you only have 30...lol
anyway, for the fraudulant error message while ordering, I never got a reply about it on pixiehost.com and on surfspeedy.com they told me it could be that the cardholder's name should be the same than on the adress. My father tryed with his card and my mother tryed with hers...I got the error with the two cards. I asked them again and they said that since it's a automatic system they didn't know... they advised me to use paypal or try again later (but my parents don't want me to use paypal).
on hostradius, the $35 per month plan has only 3GB of space and I need 4GB... :/
thanks for the links, I'll check them.
muppet 10-22-2004, 12:10 AM well, why not find a reseller with a 30day money back? That's why I originally gave xeocomm.com a chance, I figured not much I can lose..if they sucked I would find somewhere else and get a refund.
cywkevin 10-22-2004, 12:13 AM Maybe because very few companies honor their 30 day money back guarantee and the methods of getting it are not clearly stated. Also it ends up taking quite a bitof effort to get the refund. Just a thought. Yes, we do see the companies making exceptions to the rule all the time.
portal 10-22-2004, 12:16 AM pixel_fenix, some companies may not honor it. We do. We will never leave a customer in the cold like that, if they don't like our services, fair enough, we give them the refund and wish them luck in the future.
Mythyn 10-22-2004, 12:26 AM well there's supposed to be a 30 days money back garanty on serverprice.com...the only thing is that I think they're ignoring me.
PogiWeb 10-22-2004, 12:27 AM Yes, we do see the companies making exceptions to the rule all the time.
ldcdc 10-22-2004, 12:30 AM well you know 5$ it's not that much I agree but when you don't have these 5$...well you can't say you'll pay 35$ if you only have 30...lolWell you know your situation better than I do. :)
on hostradius, the $35 per month plan has only 3GB of space and I need 4GB... :/True. I realised it after I posted though.
Here's another link for you:
http://findmyhosting.com/advancedsearch.asp
Good luck!
Mythyn 10-22-2004, 12:55 AM thanks ldcdc!
well just remembered something bad about hostradius though... they made me pay for the next month when I asked to close the account...yeah, that wasn't a good thing to do...anyway...
xeocomm.com's plan looks cool...but I'm not very sure if I'll try this hosting company.looking to good to be true...too cheap, something like that...I want to reopen my site as soon as possible (well the good side of all that is that after one month offline, my bandwitch quota might not be as high as usual...lol).
I'll try again with surfspeedy.com and if it doesn't work then I'll try xeocomm.com... :-/
beezkuit 10-23-2004, 08:54 AM Hey what happened to my last post? Did I say something wrong? I simply pointed Mythyn to northrex.com with some relevant info. Why did my post dissapear?
msldystrkr 10-23-2004, 09:48 AM My post is has also gone "poof"??? I would like to know why??? All I did was mention who I used???
Mythyn 10-23-2004, 03:31 PM hum, my order attepmt failed on surfspeedy...that's just so weird I can't seem to have some luck lol.
So I'm giving up on them....that's too bad, their support staff is really nice.
I am looking at all the other offers I received and I'll try something else.
hum, I couldn't go on northrex.com...:-/
muppet 10-23-2004, 08:27 PM that sucks. Whats the trouble you keep having with all these hosting companies? xeocomm.com has been great for me for awhile now.
beezkuit 10-24-2004, 07:48 AM hum, I couldn't go on northrex.com...:-/
Sorry, Mythyn - I meant northtrex.com
Hope you're going to have some luck sometimes soon
TRIBOLIS 10-24-2004, 12:29 PM Sorry to hear that you had so many problems with hosting.
I've been with zoneserv.com for almost 2 weeks and I am fine with them.
Mythyn 10-24-2004, 03:43 PM Thanks for your support! :D
well it seems I've finally had some very good luck! A very nice person offered me hosting on his servers and everything works well :D
This forum is great, I'll gladly recommend it to my visitors on my site's webmasters rubric :D
hardstone 10-24-2004, 04:57 PM i'm also looking for Reseller with good support....i have found the following :-
1. levi1.com
2. serverprice.com
3. zoneserv.com
4. mkoh.com
5. bluearrowhosting.com
i need the opinions about them....
Mythyn 10-24-2004, 05:30 PM Don't go on serverprice.com, they're one the hosts I've had troubles with and they are still ignoring me. No support and they won't give me my money back. They suck...
For the rest, I've never tryed them so I can't tell.
I wish you the best of luck!
TRIBOLIS 10-25-2004, 10:39 AM Hi hardstone, welcome to WHT! I think you better make your own new thread so you won't get confused.
I wonder why so many people went for serverprice.com when they are providing such a lousy service...
Mythyn 10-25-2004, 02:54 PM Well, I was told their hosting was great...so I tryed...:-/
oahu_surfa 10-27-2004, 08:48 AM What about using a larger company like Yahoo or 2 advanced? They are gonna be on it with some form of service...hopefully.
sketchy 10-27-2004, 11:24 AM Well im with Clook.net
i have been with them for two months, i had one or two problems posted a ticket & within 1 minute both problems were resolved (one of them involved dns so they gave me another year on the domains for free)
Clook.net - HIGHLY recomended ;)
p.s sorry to hear about all those problems you had
Sketchy
mscdex002 10-30-2004, 01:12 PM can't you threaten legal action or something if the company does not honor their own terms? I know that the BBB is always happy to look into those matters.

The BBB can't really help if a company isn't registered with them!
Mythyn 10-30-2004, 05:03 PM Thanks alot for your replies everyone!!:) That's very nice! About clock.net, it looks good but their plans are too high priced for me.
For now (and I hope everything's gona be ok so I can stay a while), my site is hosted for free by a very nice person who contacted me last week.
Since he is quite nice and everything works pretty well on the account he offered me I decided to try (I mean, afterall, the paid hosting company couldn't even provide me a real account so... ).
In fact right now there's a problem with mysql, but I guess as soon as I see him on msn he'll tell me what's going on...and it'll be fixed shortly. [see, when just I wrote that sentence, he connected, I told him about it and poof he resolved the problem in 2 minutes and explained me what the problem was...I really can't beleive things can be so easy lool :D]
About Serverprice.com they still refuse to reply to my messages. I'll have to try calling them to the phone number they give on their site. If calling them result to nothing then I don't know what to do. I just hope they don't continue taking my money next month....
