Anyone here experienced with internation online sales and shipping? With all the credit card frauds, do you trust offering international sales to anyone in any country?
Thanks.

Hi,

Most of our sales are international. Just avoid shipping to countries like India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria etc. Every order we have ever received from customers in Indonesia turned out to be an attempted fraud!

Every business is different, and it can also depend on the value of each of your orders wether it is worth the risk.

Would you consider asking your customers from "unsecured" countries to send you an international demand draft for the hosting fees. Say a one year fee, should be sufficient to cover the processing cost.

Consider selling to any country, as long as they can provide you with a front and back of the credit card along with a charge authorization. That pretty much eliminates all the fraud. If international buyers want your pdocut and services, usually they will understand. Being from Pakistan, and knowing how rampant credit card fraud is, when ever I charge my card internationally, I usually end up faxing them an authorization, which they gladly accept and process my payment.

So it all depends. But think about it - if your product/service/offering has international appeal - why deny yourself that market. 5.75 Billion people live ourside of the US. Yeah! tremendous market.

Everyday of the week we receive scam orders, they all want to buy expensive items URGENTLY and ALWAYS pay by credit card. You can bet they are mainly Nigerian,Pakistan,Singapore. We just refuse to answer now,far better to lose any order than incur chargebacks. We never sell goods to these countries.

Sounds like they are trying to scam you if they are ordering the most expensive items, and want your product shipped Urgently.

Once we started requiring call-backs for new signups to confirm their phone number, haven't processed a single fraud order yet.

That's based on experience where previously we didn't have those safeguards in place for which we're still paying the price.
