I understand that these devices are used for to control and set up info related to your hosted sites.....BUT
Is CPanel for hosts on a shared account and WHM used for Dedicated or Reseller accounts?
Basically i am on a shared account at VO and assume that I would not need to use WHM at this stage. CPanel should be enough for me....Am I correct?

WHM/CPanel come together , you can't get them seperate as far as I know. WHM is the admin part of the system and Cpanel is the end users part of it.

CPanel is used to manage a hosting account. WHM is used to manage the server at large.

As a customer with a shared account, CPanel is all you get from your host. If you are a reseller, your host would give you limited access to WHM features such as creating/deleting your resold accounts, etc.
