Invisible Hand Networks (IHN) operates a bandwidth exchange in the New York metro area at carrier-neutral facilities such as Telehouse 25 Broadway, Equinix 165 Halsey, and SwitchandData 111th 8th Avenue. The bandwidth exchange is driven by IHN’s Merkato platform that enables real-time pricing, purchasing, and provisioning of bandwidth.
You, the buyer, will benefit from using this system to purchase your bandwidth, because:
•Bandwidth on-demand, in real-time, thus paying for only the amount of bandwidth you need at all times.
•Software automatically and intelligently purchases bandwidth for you dynamically in real-time resulting in a significantly reduced cost of bandwidth in comparison with traditional pricing models.
For example, if you were to purchase an average of 20Mbps with a daily peak of 40Mbps (95th of 40Mbps) for one day at a price of $40/Mbps/mo, it would cost only $25.80/day, and $800/month, while with 95th percentile, at the same nominal price, the cost would be $1,600/month. Because you are purchasing in real-time, you are only buying exactly what you need at that time. If you only need that 20Mbps for 1 hour you would only pay $40/Mbps/mo / 31 days / 24 hours = $1.07/Mbps/hr.
•A free market system – no term contract, no bandwidth commitment, and no monthly minimum fee. Don’t need any bandwidth, don’t pay for any.
•Wide variety of sellers available on the exchange gives you control over the price and quality of your bandwidth.
•Exchange environment enables convenient and cost efficient multi-homing.
You can connect to an IHN bandwidth exchange by:
• Cross connect in any Merkato enabled facility
• Co-location
• Dedicated server
• Content delivery
