We are currently running a new server with AMD XP CPU. It hang up 3 times in the last 3 days. We only have 1 website on the server and server load is around 0.10. We think the crash may to do with cooling. Is there a way you can tell if server hang up due to CPU problem??

Very unscientific method:
Yank the top of the case off, and put a fan on it, like a box fan or desk fan...
If it doesn't lock up that way, then you know you have a cooling problem :D

Which m/board are you using, and what speed cpu? Check the cpu fan is secured to the cpu properly (for maximum heat dissipation).
Btw you can check your cpu temp's from within most BIOS's - let me know what kind of temps you are getting.

by the way, how to monitor temperature remotely? Do you know a software that can monitor CPU (or case) temperature and display it via web or, at least, to console?
Yeah.. I got the same question. How can we monitor it remotely?

Take a look at the lm_sensors project:

Is it a Linux only project? Though my sql servers use Linux, web servers run under FreeBSD....

It is open source, so you can port them :D. I don't use any BSD variants, so I cannot say how good this project is, but you might want to look at:

Also try healthd (it's in the FreeBSD ports). It can display info in the console and on a web page.

I use MRTG to monitor CPU temp on all my RaQ's...
