netsol/verisign is the most convoluted, frustrating, driving me up the friggin' wall registrar!!!

I have an older domain and they weren't using the online account manager like they are now. So to make any changes you have to go through this insanely complex email back and forth garbage. I know it's to protect the owner, but when the owner wants to make a change it's practically impossible! I've gone through 8 emails just to try and change my address. This couldn't be verified or that wasn't filled out correctly - you have to wade through text upon text to understand the directions.

I just want a freakin' form to fill out online to change my record, is that so hard???

I'm about to transfer the domain over to Dotster if this last attempt doesn't work. THe only reason I haven't yet is because I've already paid for the registration through June '03...so I'm trying to avoid the transfer fee to Dotster. But it may be worth it to avoid these headaches!

Sorry, had to rant.

When you transfer a domain between registrars, you must add a year to the end date of the domain's registration. This is an ICANN requirement.

If the gaining registrar is charging you a transfer fee in addition to the added domain year, you should look for another registrar.

no, the fee to transfer the domain to the new registrar includes one year.

Good luck! If you fail at making changes to your account you will fail at trying to transfer it out. The proces is almost identical :(

Still it is all very easy to do. See, first you fill out a form. After filling out that form you get access to another form. Filling out this form will cause the automated system to send you a form that you have to return to them. After you have returned the form you get send another form and then....

But it all doesn't really matter. Once you think you are done they send you an email telling you they could not verify your request and they have send an email to guardians asking for verification.

More seriously though, once you figure out how to do it it is easy enough. I can now change nameservers for my clients in just 1 try! Though the first time took me over four weeks and dozens of emails and calls :bawling:

One time I had them on the phone and they told me I "almost" had the form filled out correct. There was one comma in front of a space and the comma had to be after the space. So I asked them to correct the error and process the request anyway.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH How naive I was :D
