They say they offer the lowest prices of the world.

What do you think about them?

http://www.crystaltech.com (never used, but have good reports)
http://www.virtualscape.com (ditto, recommended by HostInvestigator)
http://www.interland.com (people slate them, but I've had good service over the last 2 years)

Do not touch:

http://www.halfpricehosting.com (used them, disgusted with their cancellation policy and methods - charged me for another year when I cancelled)

No, I was not saying whether they were bad or good - I was simply pointing out the fact that they're a reseller. Simple as that.... (as I've had no experience with FastHosts).

I would also say stay far, far away from Halfpricehosting.com!

I agree with the person who posted the positive review of Interland ( http://www.interland.com )earlier. The price is a little steep (starts at $26.95 a month) but the service more than makes up for it. They give you 24x7 toll-free North American (I'm not sure about global) support and the longest I've EVER had to wait on hold was about 10 minutes during "peak hours". The site I host with them has been down exactly twice in 8 months and for no longer than an hour (they're machines, so you have to expect it the odd time.) And the staff is top notch. I'd highly recommend them.

(By the way, if you do decide to use them as a host, mention that Adam from regionalshows.com sent you and they'll give you a $10 discount. Hey, ten bucks is ten bucks right?)

As far as a web host NOT to go near:

http://www.tentex.com is my vote. The FTP server crashes after 10 minutes exactly, forcing a reconnect. The site I had hosted with them was down 20% of the time. I had to host my ASP scripts on a separate site and then frame the pages so it appeared to the average user that everything was hosted at one domain. And tech support consists of an email address that is never answered. In a word: gawdawful.
