Hm .... As I see it, unlike H-Sphere, HostGUI lacks support for Win2K servers (one major thing for us since we are considering to offer Windows hosting). Both H-Sphere and HostGUI runs on FreeBSD. Both H-Sphere and HostGUI do come with integrated billing and ticket support, though H-Sphere is a bit ahead by integrating domain registration also. But HostGUI seems to be a lot cheaper than H-Sphere ...

Read lots about them, trying to decide which CP to with and HostGUI was very nice designed. But than I did not have the money and decided to go witha cobalt and have CP built in and not have to buy it. Less headaches, less admin by not running FreeBSD or Linux RH. I am a newbie and man I thought Cobalt was easy but I was wrong. I still got one sitting co-lo and still not working hahahahahaa :laugh:


P.S. For a second I found that funny but it's not... :crying:

I do think HostGUI has said they may do a windows ver. as well. The only thing that was holding us back on H-Sphere was

1. The lay out is a lot hard to use the say HostGUI or CPanel for the end user.
2. HostGUI is a little cheaper.
3. Domain Problem H-Sphere if you have a lot and mean over 1000 domain or more in H-Sphere they seem a little hard to manage unlike CPanel not sure about HostGUI yet.

Me ether.. I wish they would put a demo up.. :(

It looks like the screenshots will be a linking demo at least. That will tide me over for a little while at least :D

There is no problem with H-Sphere and large number of domains. More than that - it was developed specifically for managing large number of domains/servers from one, central spot.

I have been talking to Jag, and from what I hear it's gonna be REAL COOL! ;) I can't wait until it's released and I can see a demo. ;)

Hope they do a Win2k version :) I've just bought Hosting Controller as it was the only Win2k control panel I could find and unless v.2 is a lot better I will need to change at some point in the next year.

the PICTURES looks good but I'll wait and see how stable it really is. It has to be stable or all the features and layout will be worthless. However, it looks promissing. When is anyone else going to come up with a virtual dedicated server software!!

Not to take away from the HostGUI guys, but...
Economics would dictate that, when this comes out and becomes wildly popular (which I suspect it will), then the price of Cpanel will drop. THAT'S what I'm looking for. And if it doesn't happen, then it will be worth it for me to switch.

IMHO, the most important thing is not to drop the price of Cpanel but that they start behaving like a software company: supporting their product, fixing bugs, adding new features, no experiments, and so forth.

How have the cpanel guys been reacting?

Ive been speaking to nick on aim, hes working over time on whm/cpanel by the looks of things.

I think some of you guys should stop thinking this is going to be gods gift to web hosts, lets wait and see how it performs once its released. No offense but all we have seen so far is a couple of pictures.

That's my point exactly, pictures looks good but will it be free of bugs? perform well, be fast? stable? Only time will tell. Personally I'm happy that there's a new one coming out and LOOKS good but I have to wait and see how it performs. This software is suppose to be released soon but yet there's no demo and people are placing orders. Man! Is it that easy?

I wish HostQui allot of luck. I think they may have something good here if they learned from everyone's mistakes. Good luck guys.
