NOOOOO.... I was hoping X10 would just kinda quit with their annoying ads, but of course not. They "Just Released" the XCam2 which features a new "Tilt a Pan Option" allowing for you to scan a larger area.

Featuring pictures of women who will never technically be viewed by your XCAM.

 God no! It's truly a sad day!

Those popups are everywhere. You can't escape the fact that if you are an internet surfer...you're bound to have an X10 ad popup on your screen.

What's worst? An X10 ad....or the dreaded blue screen of death?

:bawling:

The sad fact is, that has to be the worse product I've seen in awhile.

I agree. I got one a year or two ago thinking we could actually use it for a site (silly me). We tried to use it in various places, and even in the best lighting, the quality is aweful. It has been sitting on the floor getting kicked around ever since.

Excuse me?
They did not even advertise them when I got one. I don't even look at pop-ups, in fact, I make it a point not to buy anything that's advertised in them, just out of spite. I bought one, because I buy just about every computer cam on the market when they come out.

They're ok quality for home security. I have a few of those xcams and one of those pan/tilt things "Ninja" they're pretty good.

Popups & Ads... Whats that?

Ohhhh.... nevermind, it has been ages since I seen an ad. Every now and then I see one then I need to update my filters. I use "Proximitron" its pretty good. Its better than most free ones I've tried. It allows custom filters, and can even block those annoying flash, and java banners.

dont start me on adverts, i use adsubtract pro.

registered it cos its one of the best pieces of software ive ever come across, ive not seen a popup, background, advert, sound, javascript, referrer, animated gif or anything else annoying on the internet in years.

its amazing how the likes of msn, etc... appear without ads, its like the internet was before it went commercial.

I remember the time when the advertisement companies were going to take the ad remover companies to court over lost business, lmao

Just a guess... the same companies that install those 'virus' programs on people's machines that replace the webmaster's banner ads with their own? Pffffft.

Oh boy, spyware!

Thats fine by me... I have several spyware blocking apps and a rather aggressive (ok very aggressive) firewall.

Ok, now that you got me started :D I also periodically run around in the registry and directories deleteing apps I know I *DIDNT* install or appear rather suspicous or if it likes connecting to a port on that odd IP address. (I have wiped, webhancer, real download, gator, bonzi buddy, etc. off my computer with this process). I also like to see what likes making itself startup when my computer starts up. I usually check the "run" section of the registry after I install a program to see if it is going to install something else I KNOW I done want...

I don't recommend doing that for people who are not comfortable with the registry editor. I have hacked the registry enough to know what to leave alone.

Ok, I think I'm done ranting for now... Hey you brought it up! :stickout

Yahoo has millions of those pop-ups!!! It is irritating. Spyware is bad! AdAware is good! You should check out the thread in the Feedback section on WHT.

I have a friend who absolutely loves spyware! He has an old machine that he purposely installed them on. Wrote a little app to harass the s*** out of the ads. Clicks on them like there's no tomorrow, 24/7. Can you imagine an ad being clicked on like 5 times every single second?

LOL.... good idea...

I should get an old computer and do the same thing... Hey its their bandwidth ;) They have the guts to popup all that stuff at you, well they better get ready for them to be abused :)

BTW: AdAware is just one of many apps that I use. Great program too!

Do you think we could get a copy of the app... ;)
