Currently iam using reseller account.
But now i want to shift to VPS. Iam a newbie. Please help & guide me .I have some questions
*What are the benefits of VPS other then reseller a/c. ?

*The main reason for shifting to VPS is that ,i want to create & sell reseller accounts ,is it possible to create reseller accounts in vps?

*Iam a newbie in this hosting business just 4 months ,right now a reseller, the is it possible that i can manage VPS. ?

* Can i use my own private name servers like ns1.mydomain.com

* Is it possible that my resellers can use their own nameservers
like ns1.myresellerdomain.com ?

Above features are available in VPS or i will have to go for Dedicated ?

Thanks in advance to all

Regards

I do not have experience with VPS. But i will answer you the best i can.

1. Benefits are root access, a better defined part of the CPU/Memory to use.
2. Yes. You can create reseller accounts as you have root-access.
3. It all depends on your own skills. :) If you have a basic knowledge of Linux and you get proper support from the company you should have no problem at all to manage it. :)
4. Think so, but it could depend on if the company you buy the VPS from offers it.
5. Same as above.

But as i said earlier. Don't trust me 100% on this as i have no experience with VPS. Please correct me if i am wrong people. :)

Yes to all those questions. I started with a VPS from dinix.com , they offer great support that answers my questions within hours,a perfect place for a newbie to start. The prices there are higher because you have "big brother" watching over your server. The only thing that I was unhappy with was that there was a charge to set up the "free" fantastico.

I have a vps with VPSColo and they are fully managed. A VPS is a good way to get your feet wet with hosting before you wish to go to your own server. You can add your own firewall, PMON, or any other software you desire. If you have a problem there is someone there to help you out.

I also have been with Dinix, they had good customer service, I was just having some load problems with them, those problems might be solved now.
