Just wondering how are domains valued? I got a .com, .net domain which is 2 words, but both are very easy to spell. Though it is a 12 letter domain name. I wont post the domain since I do not want to advertise, but just wondering how all this stuff works.

Say later on if I decide to sell it, and it is very popular (making great money as well since that is what the site is for).

You're in the wrong part of the forum, try posting in http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=54

Actually, you're wrong, Diaga.

Torith is looking how someone appraises a domain, not for someone to appraise his domain. It's a different concept that uses different forums.

Oh by the way, if you ever feel a thread is in the wrong forum, report the post to a community leader to move it instead of telling someone to post another thread in the appropriate forum. There's no need for double post the thread, right?

It depends on how many chars they got...any hyphens included, numbers, extension, usability, & the nation of this name, or its business type. There are default values for each of these points, probably the ones who can appraise are domain masters with experience with every type of domains, & reading a lot in the domain market value and everyday's sales.

appraisals comes from experience, you might want to use pro appraisal services like sedo or afternic or using experienced people to appraisal.
