No national chain will ever beat out the local pizza place in my opinion. :)

Oh I love Donatos pizza. They only have a few restruants outside of Ohio, but I expect them to expand pretty quick as the Pizza is just excellent. They're a little higher priced than Pizza Hut, but as they say in the webhosting business, You get What You Pay For. I do however have one complaint about their pizza and that is they put so much Pepperoni on the Pizza it gives me some severe heart burn.

Local pizza shop all the way.

At least they have some taste, and heaps of toppings, unlike the hut.

Round Table and then Toppers Pizza.

Papa john's tastes nasty to me (and the rep that came to the door from them said he doesn't like it either). Something about the sauce that's sweet and I just don't like sweet pizza.

Pizza hut... well if I ever had the need to fill a pool with grease I'd order a pizza from them.

Pizza Hut is pretty good, but they're big on gimmicks (replace with correct word). Twisted Crust! Stuffed Crust! The Edge! 99 cent pizza deal! Big New Yorker! Domino's is terrible, their crust is average at best and the cheese, even with extra, is very thin. Papa Johns is nice, especially the crust. But my favorite has to be my local pizza. (http://www.davannis.com/) They've got great pizzas of all types, and excellent hoagies/subs/whatever. And freezer pizza is absolutely disgusting.

Gotta disagree with you all! BBQ chicken pizza is the best pizza ever.

Last night I went to my gf's work who works at a local pizza place and made myself a LARGE BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA (which im eating while surfing WHT).

Ingredients:
BBQ SAUCE ( NO PIZZA SAUCE)
ONIONS
CHEESE
CHICKEN BREAST (PRECOOKED)
and MORE BBQ SAUCE and CHEESE ON TOP! ;-)

The added bbq makes the onions taste sooo good. Cant beat BBQ Chix!

Not the cheapest pies in town, but some are rather good.

Also Mama's on PCH (Hermosa), or on either Washington (I think it is on Washington, but if not then on Venice) in Venice Beach. They make a mean basil pizza mmmmmmm.

You think that's bad, you should check out this (http://www.chachich.com/mdchachi/jpizza.html) site. A few, let's just say, more intresting pizza toppings.

Marcos is the best, but they're only in michigan, ohio, and indiana.

www.marcos.com

Pizza Hut is good, though.

There was actually a Pizza Hut in Panama' that delivered. The delivery guys drove little red mopeds with those oven bags on the back.

What about Little Caesars and and Hungry Howies? They're pretty big.

There's a Marco's right across the street from me. To me their pizza takes like Cheese on card board. It started out good, but then it just went bad. Speaking of Marcos there was an armed robbery there a few months ago. Held the clerk at gunpoint and escaped with like $100, the Robbers were caught a days later though... kinda scary thinking a robbery took place that close to my house....

Hmm... I have two favorite pizza shops. My all-time favorite is Primo's Pizza in Hadley, Massachusetts (right on Route 9, next to Cumbies - if you're in the area, try it - it's amazing). Unfortunately since I moved out of the valley I don't get to eat there very often anymore. So that leads me to choice number two...

Although very different style of pizza from Primo's, my second favorite pizza shop is Espresso Pizza in Fitchburg and Clinton, Massachusetts. They use a sweet sauce, and although I don't normally like a sweet sauce (I hate Papa John's sauce, for example), Espresso's pizzas are just plain good.

As far as major chains, I don't like any of them. Papa Johns and Dominos both have nasty sauces, Pizza Hut (oops - almost used the slang term for them I picked up while in college!) is way too greasy, and Little Ceasars is just plain bad. I will occasionally get pizza from Papa Gino's (a chain mostly only located in New England), but not very often - I worked there when I was in high school and even though it's been 8 years since I left there I'm still "sick of it" I ate so much of their pizza back then.

Oh - and to the person who said they thought BBQ Chicken pizza sounded nasty - try it. It's awesome. You've got to use BBQ sauce (I like Ken's myself - got a good flavor) and *not* tomato sause on it. And then chicken (dark meat is best - it doesn't dry out as much) and thinly-sliced red onions. Loads of cheese. It's fantastic - I highly recommend it.

Oh - and if anyone's thinking about making pizza at home, give a try using Monterey Jack cheese instead of the standard mozzerella - really nice flavor.

Hands down: BBQ Chicken Pizza from California Pizza Kitchen (www.cpk.com). Also available now in your grocers freezer section :)

Commercialized Basics: Pan Pepperoni from Pizza Hut.

Dominos forever, they rule, i order pizzas from my local dominos and its over 12 miles away, arrives scorching hot, you get the garlic dip for the crust.

My local pizza places suck, they just make me sick, they use cheap toppings cheap bread, because they cant afford to kep up with the big chains.

Dominos, Nothing Better! (dont argue I may end up growling at you! grrrrr)

:D

Papa Murphy's and Round Table kick ass.

Also Eatza Pizza but they only have a few locations in Arizona.

Tombstone pizzas are pretty good, for a frozen pie. Also Stouffer's French Bread pizza. I hate the Celeste self-rising crust one, because it gave me an intense headache after eating it.

I've eaten Pizza Hut so many times that I've grown sick of it. With the Hut it's either a hit or miss for me. Our local Pizza Hut is only 15 minutes away, and on a regular weeknight it can take them 45 minutes to deliver, 60 minutes if it's a weekend. And my family *always* orders the same thing: Veggie Lovers or Supreme.

Domino's is greasy but they're quick, and I love pineapple and ham pizza! =9

I guess I'm the only one who likes Papa John's... Pizza Boli's is okay, and so is Jerry's.

when it comes to pizza, I have to say that the one I make myself is the best. home made sauce, with ground hoursemeat, roast chicken/turkey, with brocalli, cauliflower, leek, sunflower seeds, and pine nuts with true mozzerella cheese

It's oh so amusing, all of these people from different parts of the US and indeed the world even bothering debate the best pizza. Sheesh. Pizza Hut? Dominos? Papa Johns? Ha!

The best pizza is at one of about 100 of the 10000 independantly owned (usually by somebody who speaks Italian) pizza places in the NYC metro area. Yeah, I'm not so NYCentric as to say any place here, I'll go with just the top 1% of them!

P.S. to Joe... when I used to go to Chicago, I did like Uno's. Which of course everyone should recognize is much better at the real Uno's than in any of those franchised "Uno's" that popped up a few years back. Yeah, Uno's is good, but anything with a crust that thick isn't pizza!

P.P.S... I used to work for Dominos. So I know that you can make a decent pizza with the stuff they have in their stores. I also know, because I was a supervisor, that none of the managers bothers to do it right and they watch "food cost" so closely that the pizzas are always skimpy. Unless you get to make your own, after the doors are locked.

P.P.P.S... Don't even start on bagels!

Deep Dish is the only way to go.

They rule.... kinda expensive, though
But who cares, they deliver great pizza :o
