Hi Y'all,

If anyone could recommend a good firewall for my NT server, with maybe a quick pro and con list, I would be most appreciative.

Depends what you are after.

ZoneAlarm Pro is very good (http://www.zonelabs.com), but is mainly designed for small workgroups.

Firewall 1 is the bee's knees, but out-rageously expensive.

Your best bet is to upgrade to Win2k, and get hold of the new Security Server from MS, which acts as both a firewall and/or a caching server.

I would reccomend Raptor Firewalls from Axent Technologies for Internet facing servers see link

Mod Note: Attempted to fix link.

WinProxy is excellent as well, http://www.winproxy.com and offers both proxying and firewall. It has tiered pricing, starting around $75.

Also outstanding (but not an NT-based solution) is Freesco, which is a free software router/firewall that boots up on a Linux floppy. It has DNS, port-forwarding, telnet server, a Web admin interface. Worth a look at http://www.freesco.org

What are you mainly after? Checkpoint is the best out there but very expensive. You can use Guardian Pro, which is very good and they even offer a free personal one for just $10 to cover mailing expense. It's at netguard.com.
