If I buy a used Cobalt Raq4 with a 10GB hard drive can I take out the 10 and put a 40 GB in its place? Does a restore CD come with the Raq?

Thanks

Matt

I'm not quite technical enough in the hardware area to really be able to answer what HD's can or can not be installed, so I'll let someone else take on that one...

The restore CD doesn't usually come with the server, but is available as a free download (ISO), which you can burn, or you can purchase a CD and have it mailed to you.

Cobalt has the downloads off their site, though you may have to register to get it from there, or you can FTP into their site ftp://ftp.cobalt.com

You should be able to do that, dunno if the restore CD comes with but can be found or downloaded I belive.

On the HD choice, I've heard that 7200 rpm units run too hot for the blueboxes.. I'm not sure that's true though.. I suppose it would depend on where you ran it.. ie: nice cool DC or hot DC might make the difference. I'm at RackShack and in the new DC, I understand the tech's have to wear gloves at times it's so cool.

I've seen cpu temps run at 74 deg F at times.. that would take a very cool DC to accomplish!
