The ServInt Difference

All of our products are managed, including:

-Free upgrades to OS including security patches
-Free remote-hands, including debugging problems
-PHP, MySQL, CGI, stats, and more
-Port monitoring, instant hands-on response to issues
-No charge for reboots or system troubleshooting regardless of fault
-Immediate hardware replacement (at our cost) if components fail
-Unlimited port-monitoring, pro-active response to problems
-Full 24/7 tech support including: assistance with configuration, DNS management, apache/SSHD/OpenSSL/nameserver/etc configuration, and more

Why choose ServInt?

ServInt has been providing managed hosting services for 9 years. We maintain a 24 hour operations center staffed by server experts. All technicians are able to troubleshoot any problems you may have. They are available by phone and email 24 hours a day, every day, to provide help and answer questions. Most importantly, since we own our own datacenter, our technicians are on-site 24 hours a day.

Our support speaks for itself. We use experienced personnel for every task. Our idea of a good response time is 2-3 rings of the phone, not 2-3 hours in reply to a trouble ticket. We believe your concerns should be about running your business, not doing your own technical support. Most problems are handled immediately--the only delay being how long it takes to quickly resolve the issue.

Our datacenter is located in McLean, Virginia, just across the bridge from Washington DC. We have been in the same location (sometimes referred to as "The ServInt Building") since March of 1995. We own our own generator, and have backup battery systems capable of running our node indefinately--these systems were put to the test during Hurricane Isabel and worked flawlessly during a loss of power lasting for 4 days. We also have redundant AC systems and security. The ServInt network includes connectivity to Equinix and Switch & Data, transit to BTN with hundreds of peers, and a vast global network.

For a test IP to trace you may use: 209.50.251.77
You casn also find an Essential VPS with test downloads available at: http://209.50.225.155/

ServInt guarantees at least 99.9% uptime, but most importantly we guarantee your satisfaction as we have with thousands of customers for the past 9 years.

Contact sales@servint.com or call 1-800-5-SERVINT (1-800-573-7846) and press 1 then 1 at the menu to talk to a representative. If you would like to place an order, please use the links provided above depending on the product you want.

After your order is placed, a representative will contact you. Be sure to mention this WHT-only special. Every member of our staff is trained to provide excellent responsiveness, and we have a full range of custom packages available depending on your business needs.

Fedora is available, we simply don't market it yet. We still support RH 9.0 as well, the EOL hasn't impacted our services. Also, new site style is on its way. :)

ServInt's a very good provider, but I'm quite concerned about the network redundancy. Reed, do you plan to add more bandwidth providers to your network? Do you only rely on single BTN line now?

coight
10-27-2004, 03:09 PM
Do you offer RHE?

I believe RHE is not supported in Virtuozzo yet.

ServInt recently dropped GNAPS and switched to BTN. I'm not saying that BTN is bad, in fact I'm quite a fan of BTN. However, I'm very concerned if ServInt only relies on single provider (BTN) on their network without any backup or redundancy with other bandwidth providers.

So what's your explanation Reed? :)

That's the only thing I'm worried about. Emailed sales 5 hours ago no response yet. :)

umm Bluface u mean that Servint only use BTN connection? so if it go down there isn't any line for backup?

blueface
10-29-2004, 01:18 AM
dlc2000, yes that's what I see so far. All routes seem to go thru BTN alone. I hope Reed can clarify it here though.

Coight,

Sorry for the time it took to get you a response. Our sales staff sent me your request to deal with directly, and I was out of the office in business meetings at the end of the day yesterday. I shot you a message this morning and look forward to speaking. Reed is out of the country meeting with partners across the pond, which is why he hasn't been on this thread.

As far as the network questions go, I can tell you we have a strong level of network redundancy built into our design, and are very happy with our network performance, but we are also negotiating to add more transit providers to our network.

Basically, we have only very recently stopped working with GNAPS. We are looking forward to a continuous and ongoing expansion of our network in order to support our rapid growth, as well as enhance our quality.

I hope this helps,

-Christian

We absolutely offer special deals on RvSkin and Fantastico DeLuxe for cPanel/WHM. On a VPS, you can add Fantastico for a one-time fee of $12, and RVSkin for a one-time fee of $20. This covers one year of free software upgrades. On our Dedicated Servers specials, it is only slightly more, at $40 one-time for RVSkin, $50 one-time for Fantastico DeLuxe. We don't offer Urchin at this time.

ServInt - This may be a cheesy question but do you take paypal?

Only reason I ask is that I'm in the UK and my card is switch - It's like Visa, mastercard etc but it's only used in the UK - It's not international although paypal does accept it.

If you do I'm signing up!

You ordered your server with Plesk on Tuesday, November 2nd at 6:21pm. It was turned up Thursday, November 4th at 3:53pm. On Friday you told us you wanted to have the server reinstalled in order to switch to cPanel/WHM. This requires your server to go back into the turnup queue, and you were given an estimated date of Tuesday (2 business days) to have the reinstall completed, which is tomorrow.

Adressing the 6 hour wait for us to reply, this has only happened when you send an email to our sales staff during the night. This is due to time zone differences, which don't matter when dealing with our 24/7 NOC. On Friday, you sent an email at 11:21am, the response was sent at 11:27am. You then replied at 11:30am, and we replied at 11:37am. This morning I even got involved in your emails, and there have been several messages sent back and forth during this period.

As I explained, I'm very sorry that you are having a bad experience with your current provider, and I'm sorry that you ordered the wrong package with us. All of our server installations are done by hand, customized to fit individual customer requirements. I'll also add that your turnup has been escalated, and is scheduled for completion today (defined as by close of business here at ServInt).
