Just logged into the MCC to check if we had any of these mysterious fees, and what do I see?

26th September - A pay ID with the remainder of the money they owe me (minus the chargeback fees they promised they wouldn't make)....

Does this mean that a cheque is on it's way?....We'll see....

Anyone else see the same thing?

how much money was it? US / Canada?

It's a couple of thousand $, we are in Canada. Also, after checking again they have deducted the $2.50 cheque fee so it does look like they are paying up.

did anywhere on your page or here you wrote your real name?
Did you buy with it your domain?
Maybe they are paying only you to "shut you up"

No, haven't mentioned my name, website or business name.

Besides, even if they are paying, that isn't the end of it. There is still the matter of the unfair chargeback fees and the breach of contract, which caused many weeks of lost business and revenue

If on whois (for psaction.org) its your street and phone number, etc, they can know who you are. Lets see if anyone else got paid. If not.... it means that they paid only you to take you off their back.

I'm thinking it maybe the BBB complaint that done it, as the reply says they are going to perform a risk assesment to speed things along?..?..

Didnt you write that they said it will take 18 month or something like that?

Captain Biggles- I also got a letter from PS via BBB regarding my complaint. I am sure we probably got the same generic letter. If you read the last paragraph carefully it sounds like they are trying to get around paying anyone. it says they will "decide whether any existing funds will be settled," so they may be planning to charge outrageous fees to all accts and then not have to settle with anyone. Hopefully you will get a check and then maybe the rest of us who filed a complaint with the BBB will have some luck.

Just login to MCC and paysystem posted a note on the new fee charged :-

----------copy&paste from MCC--------------
Important Notice: Merchant Compliance Programs- 2003/2004 Assessments

Based on your transaction processing history your account has been assessed excessive chargeback fines and penalties. The total fine has been credited from your account, reducing the amount owed to you. A detailed notice has been sent to you via mail. The transaction activity for the months affected can be downloaded from the Statistics and Reports section (see last link). The fines/fees assessed are based on the following.

CChargeback Handling Fees

All chargebacks initiated by cardholders must be processed and are subject to a $25 handling fee.

Excessive Chargeback Activity Fines

All chargebacks which occur within a given month where the account ratio of chargebacks to transactions processed is higher than 1% (per card type), are subject to a fine of $125/chargeback, over and above the $25 handling fee.

All chargebacks which occur within a given month where the account ratio of chargebacks to transactions processed is higher than 2% (per card type), are subject to a fine of $200/chargeback, over and above the $25 handling fee but in lieu of the $125 fine.

MasterCard Excessive Refunds

All MasterCard refunds which occur within a given month where the account ratio of refunds to transactions processed is higher than 5%, are subject to a fine of $50/refund. Excessive refunding is considered to be refunding to avoid chargebacks.

Note that (see last section above) if you previouly found out a fraud transaction that has managed to register (we all know how smart those fellows are to slip through the patetic auto-fraud screening process) and wanted to void it, you have no choice but to issue a refund, this was told/instructed by the paysystem support staff everytime you begg them to void it for you, and now you are penalized for doing something that was told to do so...... they are just thinking every possible way to not paying you, these is just crazy.

I wonder if it is still legal to impose above action/charges on an already forced to terminate contract, maybe a lawyer is in a better position to advise all of us here.

Given those figures maybe that's why we never had trouble with settlement (minus the holdback) and were payed out 2 weeks after they shut everything down. Four years of working with them and a chargeback ratio of 0.16%

Obviously given we still have a holdback fund we want I always log in when I see these threads, but so far nothing's showing up in the MCC that gives me cause for concern.

Well no kidding chargebacks exceeded more than 1% of sales, the accounts were closed!

My account in being fined $500 US because I had one chargeback after we were shut down by PaySystems.

This is garbage, the call is already in to my lawyer.

Side note, recol didn't respond to me, the Montreal BBB did respond to me however.

Did you have any chargebacks at all before your account was terminated?
