Hi there,
Do you think that a lot of people would be put off if I put prices in Australian Dollars.........The reason I want to do this, is that it is nearly impossible to find a viable CC processor outside of Aus.............

I'm in Italy and use 2checkout.com and Revecom.com to use US$ prices instead of Euro prices.
For hosting I think peoples feel more confortable with US$
for other products I sold without problem computer and video games product with prices in Italian lire, but no luck with hosting service.

I would think if you are trying to market to customers in the US, yes it would most likely turn them off.

I agree, if you're trying to market to the U.S. it'll probably turn off those customers. Americans are more uneasy about other currencies than anyone else; probably because we're so isolated and the average American has never even seen any foreign currency. (Well, maybe a Canadian quarter if they're in the North).

What about keeping your CC processor and showing AU$ and US$ on everything? Then send the AU$ people to your shopping cart for your merchant account, and the US$ people to a third party CC processor. You'll retain a degree of professionalism but at least allow people to pay in US$.

Just my idea.

You're so right Lurleene. Especially with Lira, Simone :)

I can imagine the outcry when an American sees alllll those 00000000's after your monthly rate :D

I'm in a country not far from you 21inchguns, and theres a few companies here that offer an online payment gateway into my merchant account. A couple of them allow multi-currency payments too, so that's what I signed up with and now I can bill in a dozen different currencies. It was all too easy!

There must be something similar available in Australia?
