Hello everybody!
I need help.
I am in the process of starting my website with ecommerce capabilites. I would like to use PayPal but all the information and feedback is for scenarios based on the US market. i am based in Hong Kong and would want to know what is the most suitable payment for Hong Kong. My customers are scattered all around the world, so i need a multi-currencies format.
Any suggestions?

Paypal, you can withdraw to Hong Kong
It works, but you cannot receive Hong Kong dollar from your customer.
The exchange rate is 2-3% lower than you get from bank. (7.60 for last paypal withdrawal) Also, you will have 1% cross-border fee (which is waived now, probably not in the future)

Thanks for the info.
Would you know any other cc processor that offer multicurrencies services? Maybe Worldpay or something like that?
i don't mind paying provided i get good service.

we can help you out... we host and have developed many commerce sites for clients in the region & globally, which accept multi-CCY payments (inclu HKD). FYI - we accept HKD payments online...

Payapal - very easy to get setup & start using, but far too many issues once you really start to use their service.
It takes longer & there are sign up costs etc, but if you want to run a viable online commerce business get an account with a reputable 3rd party payment gateway e.g. worldpay, 2checkout etc

its definately not the top choice of all the vendors suing then in class action suites lol
on a serious note, I think paypal is a good easy solution for personal and occasional useage but if you want a solution for BUSINESS, I'd say look elsewhere.
good luck :)
