Hi folks,

I am looking for unmetered servers. I have searched the forum already, but want to know more. :)

10Mbps, 20Mbps ... up to 100Mbps.

Any recommendation?

The price should be reasonable, and it should be reliable. Hopefully the price could be similar to ServerMatrix. :D

Thanks guys!

The cheapest I have seen for 10mbit is amenworld.com in France. Can't comment on the quality of service.

I would recommend servermatrix unmetered one than fdcservers.

fdcservers is a bad place to have a server from everything I've heard, for what it's worth I've heard considerably LESS complaints about ServerMatrix's unmetered solutions. The lesser of two evils basically (so I'm not a cogent fan).

Hi,

Haven't heard good things about Amenworld or FDCservers.

What kind of budget do you have, because the majority of unmetered servers wont provide good performance for the price, it's often better to pay a little more and get something reliable.

If its just for download purposes, Cogent should be more than enough for it. However, if your budget allows you for quality, might check superbservers or ethr.

Try www.coloquest.com. They provide unmetered and great performance, just my 2 cents :>

geee fdcservers are offering $150 for 100Mbit port
, is that one of those too good to be true offers, or would it be safer going with servermatrix for an extra $100

FDC is not bad at all now that they have switched to Level 3 for the most part. I have a box with them and uptime has been excellent for the past 1.5 months. I did not really use support much but when I did replys were reasonable.

On the term and sercices for fdcserver
it has this

Each server is connected via private (non-shared) 100Mbit port to our 3Gbit backbone which is shared by all servers that have subscribed to unmetered service plan. The bandwidth is NOT dedicated.
Servers on 100Mbit unmetered plan can expect average 3000GB-5000GB/monthly throughput on outbound transfer (from the server to the internet) and up to 30TB/monthly throughput on inbound transfer (from the internet to the server)

I know Server Matrix have something similar but is it as stringent as fdc servers

but.......i heard a lot of bad about them in the past !
If now they have improved their uptime then chose FDCserver because the price so good ! :)

fdc servers is good, they offer good prices in all, but i will say dont overload on servers, they will OS reinstall, and all data will be deleted lol

Hopefully the price could be similar to ServerMatrix.

Probably because Ev1 is more expensive.

Nope, it's true, you get a 100mbit/sec PORT but don't expect to be able to push more than 12mbit/sec or so without packet loss/lag, etc.

Still a great deal at FDC for the price....... I think you would get a argument on the FDC forum with your packet loss theory.
