Hi! :) This is my first post here, please help!

I want to start small hosting company and am considering MCHost.com and VenturesOnline.com. My primary target will be individuals and small businesses that need small space and limited bandwidth, something like 25MB and about 500MB of actual monthly BW. I also need to be able to offer hosting for mission-intensive sites.

Which company do you recommend?

That really depends on how you want to do it. I mean VO is a case of buying a base reseller package, then when someone orders you on-sell them a package at a profit, where MCHost lets you buy a chunk of space and divide it up as you like...

They're both good companies, I'd recommend either - it just depends which approach you feel will suit your business plan better.

they are both very good companies....

but as HostIt has already said " It depends how you want to do it"

I personally prefer being able to make my own hosting packages, which allows for better customisation, and you can even tailor specifically to each customer. I just feel you can build a better service by allowing for a few different things here and there...

HostIt and 21inchguns, thank you!

Actually, I'm aware of that difference between the two companies. I need to know which one is more reliable and has better customer support.

In fact I find MCHost (and splashHost.com) offers to be too good to be true!

VO asks for min $16.95/month + $10 to be a reseller + $50 to customize control panel + monthly rates for resold accounts. So, if I host 50 VR20 accounts, then this will cost me $2633.4/year. But with MCHost, 50 accounts of 20MB each will cost me $420/year only!

MCHost is relatively new in the market and I am afraid they will not be able to afford this and will suddenly quit!:cartman:

If you don't feel comfortable going with MCHost then don't. If you don't feel comfortable with it, then any little thing that happens will peck at your brain and the little voices'll kick in "if you had just...". I've only been with MCHost and I enjoy it, but it just seems as though you'd rather go with the other place. If you'd rather go that way, then do so.

1. Your sums are wrong... you need to factor in extra bandwidth for MCHost.
2. They aren't THAT new and they aren't about to give up either. There's too many sensible, long range plans already being implimented for that to be true.

JustinK, in fact it is not about being comfortable with one company or another. The matter is about which company that will grant me more profit and good and reliable service for my customer.

BeCoMe1, do you know when VO is going to offer this service?

WebSnail.net, a 20mb account wont consume 245.76mb/month. Even if 5 or 10 users use more than that then very surely the rest wont. So, the 12GB/month of MCHost is good!
