View Full Version : is iPowerWeb good?
I'm looking for a cheap host which include
- $5-$7 / month
- 100 mb space up
- 1-2 gb bandwidth
- allow cgi, php, ssi
- free domain register free is great ,if possible.
I think http://www.ipowerweb.com/ is interesting.
What do you think?
has anyone used their service?
any other host interesting?
Thank you.
be warned, you will get what you pay for.
if you can afford it your better off going with a big company on a 2 year plan.
a plan like the one below is available from many hosts. (with 2 years paid up front)
$10 per month (the equivilent of... you pay $240 up front)
10-15gb month xfer
100mb-350mb space
php,mysql,cgi etc...
pop3
free domain reg etc
just look around, there are quite a few.

p.s. im not here to promote or deface the reputation sites hence the unmentioned posts.... sorry

Many hosts don't last 2 years, such a large payment up front is an incredibly bad idea.
Not only that, but you can find many hosts that offer 10-15GB/100-250MB for less than $10/Monthly on month-to-month payments with no contract...
Churchill69 01-26-2002, 07:09 PM Be WARNED that if you sign up with iPowerWeb, expect no service from them. I have signed up with them 3 months ago and from day one, they have never returned my email requests for help, regardless of my cry for help. Last night I just found out that the mail is down and again I sent them emails, still no reply. They do not have 1-800 numbers and their phone are always answered by machines, which gets you no reply.
I just found out from other web host review websites that iPowerWeb is getting bad reviews with the same problems. So I encourage you to seek other services. I will be doing the same soon. Good Luck!! :)

Also a good idea to look for a company with a phone number - try calling them also to see if anyone picks up. Always good have a phone number.

Thank you very much everyone, especially Churchill69. That's the information I'm looking for. I will search for some other host service.
Churchill69 01-27-2002, 01:29 AM Guess what? This is so funny, I had post a similar review on another host review website, ( I think it is the sister site of iPwerweb) and I got an email from iPowerWeb right away telling me that they will do an investigation on my claim and asked my domain name. At first I was hesitant to give it to them because I did not know if they were serious about it, but I really need them to fix the problem or I will have to move my domain, so I told them the domain name and the problem I had with their service. Let's see what happens, will keep you updated.
But how funny that they have time to check their review and respond to it, but no time to help their customer.
Precise 01-27-2002, 01:57 AM hehe... sounds a little bit like burst...
I mean... did I say that out load?
:dgrin:
Churchill69
what's the url of hosting reveiw website you mention?
thanks.
Churchill69 01-28-2002, 06:08 AM OK, here is the update of what happened.....
The supervisor from iPowerWeb had been busy helping me get these peoblems solved and I think he did a good job. Not only that I have no trouble now but he gave me a free upgrade on my account. So for now I am happy. I hope they keep this support from now on.
The URL you are asking is
http://100best-web-site-and-domain-hosting-services.com/
Good luck!!
denliv 02-01-2002, 10:48 AM I just signed up with them after escaping from Primemaster (avoid Primemaster at all costs!) So far they seem good, and you can try them for 30 days with a money back guarantee. Also you can sign up quarterly, though for a little more than the yearly rate, plus a $30 setup, which you avoid with the yearly plan. If you like you can check one of the sites I host with them at designerpapers.com - hope to hear from someone else though since I'm so new with them - just about a week or so (in other words I may not have been with them long enough to know what the hell I'm talking about!!!).
nvphone 02-02-2002, 12:20 PM To bad about Primemaster. They where good before they got sold last month. Called support at night and got a live person, etc.
Guess the old $$$$ flow is getting to some companies.
nocturnix123 03-01-2002, 09:24 PM Im about to signup with ipowerweb....would like to know current status/opinions on how ipowerweb performs...So far except for this incident...
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35051&highlight=ipowerweb
ipowerweb seems good, this is the only dirt i could dig up on them...
so what is the current satisfactory rating with ipowerweb? for those who use it?
