That idea has already been proposed and considered by ICANN. I think it was .xxx, right? Anyway, it's a great idea, if your a big fan of censorship.

It's more profiling than censorship since it doesn't restrict it entirely. Sure would make it easier for parents to lock down their access, but I don't think it'll make much difference in the end. Kids are too smart, they always find ways around such things.

It would make a difference if porno sites that are not in .xxx and .porno zones are made illegal worldwide.

But I guess that's kinda hard to acheive.

It would make somewhat of a difference, but the kiddies locked out of the xxx and porno domains would always find a way in. I personally think something this is long over due, and quite likely it is too late to enforce such a thing. I would vote Yes on proposal A if it was on the ballot though as such however. Enforced categorization, can't be all that bad! :D

.porno/.xxx is not logistically feasible. That is why it isn't here. Who's to determine what is porn? What about Michaelangelo's David? Is that porn since his privates are showing? What about non-nude teens or foot fetish sites? They don't show private parts but surely they are pornography for someone.

And then what comes next? Racist websites? Sites selling guns? Alcohol? Cigarettes? Sex advice? Marriage councelling?

Sound ridiculous? Won't be if we start letting censorship become part of the internet.
