I need a couple web sites that explain how to set up a web server, how to configure it to work on a network, and just all around a beginners user guide on Red Hat. Thanks!

Are you looking for a site like this or going to write one?

If you're looking for one, are you doing everything by hand (i.e. vi, pico) or do you have some control panel. What's up and running on the box and what do you still need to do?

Not quite enough detail ;)

I am looking for a site that would explain that stuff to me :) Also I am using the GNOME interface and I would use the control panels to set things up.

so do you already have a dedicated server or something....or are you just trying to set it up at home first...??

A good way to learn is by searching through the howto's....they have one on basically every topic.....a bunch of them will come with your red hat installation also...........

also read all the apache docco, etc....

I hate learning things off the web. I tend to scan too much cos of my web surfing habit. Books are so much easier on the eye aswell.

OT: HAPPY 50th POST!!! What's the next level?

What I am doing is setting up a web server for my school. They already have a MAC one but I convinced them that they needed a Linux server :D

Tell your supervisor that a book would really help. Due to all the security risks that a server poses to the school, the relative cost of a book is a mere drop in the ocean :)

Do you recommend any good books for Red Hat Linux 7.2?

http://www.linuxnewbie.org is a good one. Forums are extremely slow though. Good crowd though... Also, http://www.linuxdoc.org is like the "official" Linux documentation place to go. Kinda like MS's MSDN.
