I am a newby to DNS so please forgive if this is a stupid question

I am trying to set up DNS on a friends win2000 machines.

is it possible to set up the primary and secondary servers so that whenever I create a new ZONE on the primary the secondary server finds it and adds it.

Or do I have to add the zone to the primary and then also add the zone to the secondary everytime?

You will still need to add the entry to the seconday DNS server unless your using active directory. Once the records are in both zones you can make changes to the primary DNS and this will update the records on the secondary DNS server.

the servers in question don't use active directory so I guess that means doing it by hand
