Hi all,

We are a large web host based in one of Eastern European countries. We have a lot of experience in what we do, a knowledgable support team and years of experience. Our NOC is of highest standards, fully redundant.

We are planning on offering web-hosting services to customers based outside our country ie US and Europe based customers.

We will provide 24/7 support. Services will include Linux hosting (no colo, no dedicated yet). A very good control panel will be included in every account. Lots of traffic, lots of space even on small accounts. I will provide more info on request. Our support team is also based in Eastern Europe and they all speak very good english.

And, of course, since our costs are much lower than our US-based competitors, this will be well represented in our pricing.

My question is would you host your websites with such a company?

What about giving us your web address so we can check prices, services, etc.

Chilediez, I will definitelly post the URL when we're live.

The thing is that we cannot transfer our business model to the US/Europe market as it is in our country for the reason that (1) customers are different here, and therefore the services are different too, (2) billing structure is different, (3) laws are not the same.

What I can tell you for sure now is that you will be able to pay much less for high quality service as our costs are far lower here.

What I would love most is that all of you guys tell me what you would like to see in this company and we will try to accomodate all reasonable suggestions.

Your suggestions for this venture will definitelly be taken into account when designing the structure of service. I have to say though that most things have already been decided and now is the time to jump in with suggestions as it will be harder to change things later.

I run a hosting company from Europe and although I do not really hide the fact that I am not in the US I also do not offer this information freely if they do not ask me for it.

Most people outside the US could care less if they did business with the penquins on Antarctica but Americans seem to have this strange idea that anyone outside the US is some kind of unreliable person.

I don't exaclty know what it is but I think the fact that that person does not fall directly under THEIR laws and as such cannot be sued for $ 3.000.000 because 2 emails got lost makes them feel uncomfortable

My sincere apologies to any Americans reading this and do not want to be stereotyped :D

If I were you I would focus more on the European and Asian markets. Because a) they do not have a problem with servers being in a different country b) they are geographically closer to you (better connection) c) They will save money by choosing your service. Although your labor costs are lower then in the US I doubt that you can get cheaper bandwidth then in the US.
I'm pretty sure though that you can get cheaper bandwidth then most of the European Union ;)

Well in any case you certainly nailed the stereotype.

I'm in Canada, so for the most part I don't really have a choice of having a server in my country. Though I do prefer US simply because 90% of the times I get a better connection to them (speed). I'm actually from Europe though ;) I don't have a problem with a server out of North America so long as the people are friendly and the connection speed is good.
