View Full Version : Best Reseller
prosoft 10-12-2004, 04:03 PM What company, in terms of reliability and price has the best reseller package(s). I want to start a hosting company, and lost $500 trying to start with a dedicated server, so now I'm going to start with a reseller package. I need at least 1gb space, 80gb bandwidth, php, mysql, and cpanel and must not cost over $25 a month. I'm not worried about support, I just need to have a resller package with those specifications and it has to be reliable in terms of its downtime and such. Thanks.
Damienwd 10-12-2004, 04:24 PM Try as-hosting.com
hostingtruth 10-12-2004, 04:44 PM Prosoft, you may have a difficult time finding a standard plan with those specs (1 GB space/80 GB BW). That is a lot of bandwidth for that little amount of space. You must have a popular site or two! :)
Check out Unifiednet.net. Their Lite Linux plan (which is what I have) gives you 5GB space and 50GB bandwidth for $25/month.
You might be able to find 80GB bandwidth for less than $25 month, but my bet is that you wouldn't like the reliability (or rather the lack thereof) that would come along with it.
PogiWeb 10-13-2004, 12:09 AM HostingTruth is exactly right! It will be very hard for you to find a plan like that. If you up your diskspace their will be more options. Have you ever thought of maybe getting a VPS?

James K 10-13-2004, 02:01 AM superprogram, are you using both of them? How long have you been with them?
verso-sys 10-13-2004, 02:49 AM Hi
Tray bluewho.com, dathorn.com, httpme.com or x1services.net
I am with x1services for 3 months now and it is great for me. They are reliable and cheap. Support is not he best (not always under 15 minutes) but it works fine.
One more thing. I doubt you will find package with 1 GB space and 80 GB data transfer/ bandwith. Usually it is 15 GB of data transfer for 1 GB disk space. Httpe.com haves 10 GB data transfer for 1 GB of disk space.
I hope I could help.

Intelle 10-13-2004, 06:48 AM Maybe you can try a VPS if raise your budget. That way you can get 80GB of Bandwidth. :)
prosoft 10-13-2004, 08:58 AM ok, so then, what about the same requirements but with a VPS account??
hostingtruth 10-13-2004, 09:29 AM It is very doubtful you'll find a VPS account for $25/month or less. Servint.net is running a deal for 10GB/200GB with DirectAdmin right now for $49/month.
Also noticed in the offers section that Hostnetway.com has a reseller deal right now (13GB space/80GB bandwidth) for only $23/month, which seems too good to be true, so it might be. I know nothing about their reliability, so you're on your own there.
Hope you find something that will work for you.
superprogram 10-14-2004, 09:09 AM Janmes K I have been using gazzin.com for a while
At the same time I have heard good reviews about turnkeyreselelrs too

be careful with as-hosting.com! i used to have an account there, but it were so many downtimes and they didn't reply emails. they didn't care of anybody!! i would not recommend it!
joshuayip 10-15-2004, 03:00 AM I dont think you should expect to find the best. You should expect to find one who strives to be the best. There will be network down times, server hard disc crash. A best reseller still have to put up with that. Other than apologies and offer you some free months, I dont think they can do much. But as far as I know, you can probably find a good host if no one in this forum said anything bad about them =) , perhaps all good reviews.

kmikeweb 10-15-2004, 08:17 AM which of all of these are US based companies?
it is hard to find this on their sites, if it is there.
thanks.
X1-Darin 10-15-2004, 09:42 AM Since verso brought us up, we are located in the US. Our servers are actually located in the Ev1 Datacenters.
NodePlex 10-15-2004, 04:43 PM I would highly recommend surpasshosting.com
I have used them for about 4 or 5 months now and it has been great...support is outstanding
Their bronze plan has 75 GB transfer for $15
Their silver plan has 100 GB for $25
Like everyone else has stated, your space will be much higher, like 7 GB and 10 GB
It's safer and easier to oversell space which is why some plans get way up there in disk space
malcolmk 10-15-2004, 05:10 PM I would recommend javhostings.com
they offer an unmetered bandwith and unmetered space reseller package for about $35 a month.
ChrisBowd 10-16-2004, 08:21 PM I just upgraded to one of TurnleyResellers.com's new $12/95 a month plans. You get 15Gb/150Gb on a dual Xeon 2.8 for that price which seems like a hell of a lot for the money but Robert has consistently delivered the goods.
I have had one of Turnkey's Ensim accounts for the past few months just to "test the service" and have to say its the best host I have ever dealt with and one of the few that really involves resellers in its "moving forward" decisions.

TRIBOLIS 10-17-2004, 05:18 AM ZoneServ.com is getting much better after Gil was back from vacation.
Server Load: 0.2 (1 cpu)
superprogram 10-17-2004, 05:46 AM www.gazzin.com is also good
ChrisBowd 10-17-2004, 07:19 AM Well, I am hanging my hat on Turnkey. My new account is on their new dual Xeon 2.8 server which is presently responding like lightning.

If your site is hacked its your problem than your hosts problem.

Quite the blanket statement.
The statement is of course widely off-mark without any knowledge of the situation, at all.
If the server was hacked and his site taken 'out', then the admin's in charge of the server are at fault.
It could also be a software issue (one of the many cpanel holes). Again, this falls back on the admin team in charge of the server - they should patch known holes.
To blindly pass it off as the users fault, is nonsense.

To a great extent, would agree with your views.

There's no such thing as unmetered bandwidth or webspace. There's a limit to the capacity of a hard drive, you know? And $35/mth for that seem too good to be true.
I would recommend you SolidInternet.com or TurnkeyResellers.com. I have an account with SolidInternet. Their support is only through email or their support forums. I can usually get an answer within 12 hrs but for that price, I think they are pretty good for a budget reseller. I also have an account with TurnkeyResellers but I haven't really utilize it yet as my partner is away at the moment. It seem pretty good, though. The prices are extremely good too... :D

Hello Simon,
Server was not hacked, just his specific account.
Regards,
Gil.

I was browsing these forums and noticed that HostPlane has some decent prices for a good reseller program.

Additionally, it seems that ZoneServ would provide good services at a reasonable price. Take a look at their site below.

Thanks,
