I must say with the whole Paysystems fiasco a few weeks ago I am pretty nervous that this paypal thing could end up the same way.

I could kick myself in the arse for leaving over 2k in my account, I was always one to say 'never leave more than $100 or so in your account because they will screw you' and look what ends up happening.

At first I thought it was just a dos or something but now that they admit they are having trouble with the processor of some sorts makes me think maybe visa/mc/discover pulled the plug on them.

PayPal is owned by eBay, which is a public company. I would feel much more comfortable with having my money in an account with them than I would with PaySystems. This downtime doesn't seem to be an indication that they're shutting down, it seems more like a system update went wrong for them.

PayPal is backed by a HUGE company (eBay). It's unlikely the same lack of communication that occured with PaySystems is happening with PayPal.

eBay would suffer a huge loss if PayPal started to really get a bad reputation.

Also, from what I can gather the recent problems are a result of a buggy "upgrade"...

Things still work, but they're very slow and sometimes takes 4 or 5 attempts to process.

I love PayPal. I have never had problems with PayPal!

As heard, It doesn't seem to be a "shut down"..but a "restart" for a service, or an upgrade.
