Unknown_User 10-12-2004, 08:24 AM IP Addresses help with Search Engine optimisation, that said, you do not need your own name servers (DNS) however you will require to use someones DNS Server to store your own hostnames - IP and Domain name - IP mappings in order to access websites you host through domain names not IP Addresses. If you are a hosting company I suggest having your own name servers, will be more professional on behalf of your company, otherwise if you are able to have someone else contain your IP - Domain mapping son there name servers then go for it, if they are reliable, and you trust them. However for experience I suggest you have your own name servers - so install BIND on your box and give it a shot, no harm can come of it. DisleixK |
