OK, I'm new, but I've been snooping around and watching and listening and even participating when I couldn't help myself. Now I have a REAL question.

I see in the threads that DONHOST is mentioned. Is this a bad thing?

What can anybody tell me about the people at DONHOST.CO.UK ??

How about the people at Univictor.com ??

(NeoTrace gives me the idea that these are either the same people, or that Univictor is reseeling to resellers for Donhost.)

What's the general concensus on these guys?

I have made a tentative deal with the folks at Univictor, and after snooping around a bit, I thought I'd ask a few of those who would know more about these guys than me.

Alright, that's 2 with a vote for BAD, but can I get some specifics? What do they do (or not do) that's so bad? Are all the sites really slow? Are the systems down a lot?

I mean, if they were around "way back then," and they are still in business now, they must have SOME redeeming features, right? At least one or two?

As long as I'm in here, in the dirty laundry section, I'd like to tattle on a very bad host. His service SUX! Watch out for a guy named Willson Kwok, his "Company" is Gotos.com. I got burned for over $7,000 by him and I ain't happy at all. What's more, he acts like he hasn't done anything, and that "Sorry for the inconvenience" makes everything ok. :bawling: < that's me telling my sob story.

After only having my domain active for ONE DAY, he shut his service off without any notice to anyone! Ran off for 3 weeks, and still isn't back up YET. Even worse, I can't even access my domain to make any changes or move to another nameserver yet. I lost 7 HUGE clients, and about 3 dozen little ones. But they were all important to ME. (The rest are a bunch of VERY understanding people, and havedecided to hang in there with me, until I get new hosting space.)

In case I didn't make it known, I'm a brand new newbie as far as reselling goes, this is my first crack at it. But I've been a site developer for a while, hosting clients in my own space. (As if you care.)

I registered a brand spanking new (and pretty cool, I might add) domain name just for this new business. Now I can't even find it. I'm not even sure who he registered it through (he did it for free, as part of the package) and it isn't listed on any nameservers right now. I can't get him to answer my emails about my domain name and the situation is getting worse.

Somebody email me some Valium and Xanax!!! I'm about to explode.

Post (or PM me if you don't want to post it) the domain and I'll give you some info on it if you like. I remember that gotos from some of those fraudulent ebay URLs posted. Emailed ebay about it, they didn't care, sorry. I tried.

Man talk about shopping in ALL the wrong places for your web hosting, you've not only managed to stumble onto Donhost and (apparently) one of their resellers, you've even managed to cross paths with GOTOS.COM

I sell hosting on Ebay, I sell a lot of hosting on Ebay, it took my company from 0-profitable in 2 months. I watched GOTOS.COM resell some ridiculous stuff and people just ate it up and now I am starting to get some refugees, it's funny they'll call me first typically, not even bother with an email "I just wanted to make sure there really was someone there" haha man.

You've certainly started at the "bottom" of web hosting from what I see so far :) hang out here a bit you'll get some good advice and maybe avoid anymore bottom feeding :D
