I run a Xbox site and many companies that support gaming sites like to use Alexa.com to judge popularity since most people aren't just going to give up their admin info so a company like UbiSoft or Microsoft can look to see how they are doing.
I myself like to use Alexa.com to and as far as I know its pretty reliable, its not going to be 100% reliable but what do you guys think?

I thought alexa counts only sites that are most visited by users with their toolbar installed .. am i right?

Yes you are right. Alexa is reliable for English speaking audience because most of Alexa users speak English. Alexa is not when you estimate regional non-english sites.

it is VERY reliable in your case.. Because if you download the toolbar and keep closing and opening your site then that is one click to your site that alexa reads... You can lower your Alexa RANK under 100,000 in a very short time.. so then all those game companys will just DONATE THEIR VIDEOGAMES TO YOU! HAHAHAH! ;)

You are right. Alexa is very unreliable for stats because of this. It all depends if your visitors have the alexa toolbar, plus there are alot of fake hits programs that boost your alexa rankings.
I don't trust alexa rankings

www.webbasica.com - doesn't have Alexa. It tells "No data".
Alexa can be very valuable tool to estimate site's potential - you just need more experience and other information to consider.
