View Full Version : 2Checkout Slow or Not Responding?

I've had 3 people complain now they were trying to signup and my links to 2checkout either "came up with a blank page" or loaded "slowly then the second page didn't even load at all" now. I tried it myself and man they weren't kidding! I still have yet to make it passed the first page, when I make it to the first page at all. Yet my admin area is fast as can be and loads up lickety split.

Is it just me having a bad afternoon or are other folks noticing some major slowness too?

You know what it was? My custom headers/footers, it couldn't or barely could, load them.

I removed them and it ziped right along, apparently 2checkout and my server at Rackshack are nearly unable to communicate.

Gonna put my headers/footers/graphics on my server on COGENT and see if it's better (irony is delicious but sure can be aggravating).

Be nice if they had told me that, I've likely lost at least 3 sales from it

You know, Gary, I don't think it is working very well. I just tried it again. The 2checkout.com page still goes blank after the progress bar gets about a 1/3 of the way across it's box on the status bar of my browser. And, I'll bet that you don't have a payment recorded again. What the heck is the problem? Any business plan requires you to be able to collect the cash, doesn't it???

Figures, I just tried it MYSELF, absolutely NO problems, click the link to pay, click Continue, enter CC info, click order, SALE PROCESSED!! under 2 minutes flat from first to last click. 3 minutes total including refunding my own order.

The 2Checkout server was having some intermittent problems today which seems to be all cleared up now. If you are still having problems, contact their support.

Trust me the first thing I did wasn't come here asking if it was only me having these problems.

"when it rains, it pours"

The idea of allowing customers to have custom Headers/Footers is a great one.

Unfortunately, during times when the linkpt gateway is quirky, when the Processing server "grabs" the information from your site we run into timing out problems. We obviously have no control over the linkpt system.

We have found that clients using Carts (instead of the cut and pasted "buy" buttons) suffer from the timeouts.

We have considering limiting custom Headers/Footers to only text files, but that really limits the "custom" look. I think a fair compromise will be for us to limit the "size" allowed for this feature.

We are most likely going to store custom Headers/Footers on a server of our own in the near future in hopes that at minimum those clients that use the custom feature will not be at a speed disadvantage.

I just use basic links to the site nothing fancy.

Most of my purchases are recurring anyway.

I feel proud, ya'll are gonna keep part of my first weeks sales until next payout because I sold too much :)

Edit:

Crap I just realized that it ain't per week, it's by monthly.

On that note, the service is back up and running have had no complaints since last night around 10 I guess and have had about 6 orders so looks like all is good.

Is this same problem happening again today?

I just had another customer get timeouts after entering his CC info, twice, the second time however, the payment did end up in my list of payments so I went ahead and activated him. The first time no such payment.

Is this a recurring problem?

I didn't bother putting in a ticket today since the one from yesterday should still be open as I've not recieved a response on it yet.

Have you had a response yet Dixiesys?

I don't have any pending emails in my queue from you, so it had been forwarded to billing.

Let me know please if you still have an open issue.

Anyone having the same problems today? I was getting blank screens, and turned off the header/footers, and am still having problems getting transactions to go through...

Thanks,
Johnathan

Yep had a couple complaints and at least 5 abandoned orders.

I'm afraid I'm losing sales over this and am wondering what other options are available for billing my customers.

OrderButton can't/won't do charges below $10, 2checkout is having a hell of a time reliably checking my customers out (and my headers footers have been disabled for days now). So who's left?

Revcom has that $1 per transaciton thing that TOTALLY blows my $3.95 a month into nothingness.

Other suggestions for payment processors? Hate to lose my $49 and I really like the simple no nonsense interface 2checkout has but if my customers are getting a blank screen and no confirmations of their payments (had one email me and say "no confirmation can you check?" and sure enough, the charge went through and neither her nor I got a confirmation email!
