I am looking for:
256 MB of DDR PC2100 • CL=2.5 • Non-parity

The cheapest I can find is at crucial.com for $75.00 including shipping. When did memory start getting so darn expensive?

Any ideas where I can get it cheaper? Thanks :)

RAM prices have been rising over the past two months.

Crucial provides pretty good quality RAM at good prices, you'll find cheaper at PriceWatch, probably, but pay a little extra and go for the Crucial.

Memory seems to be doing the opposite of what it's expected to. With (almost) everything else in the computer industry, prices lower as time goes on. I receive the TigerDirect.com catalog, and in their 1A catalog (for the new year), a 256MB stick of RAM is $10 cheaper than in 1B (which came out about 2 weeks after the first one).

I was dumb enough to buy a lot of 25 laptop ram chips (64MB) for $30 a piece a while back, and now I'm stuck with boxes of these things and having trouble selling them for $10 a piece.

Anyway, I have heard good things about Crucial, and it seems like they are really trying to advertise a lot lately and get their good name out.
