Despite my views about WHT advertising (enough said before ;) )

The logo used by 'Wizards Hosting' has to be one of the best I've seen :)

Don't know who designed it - but 100/100 !! I want one :bawling:

Really? Pretty unremarkable IMO. Nothing that can't be reproduced with a little photoshop and eye-candy. There's a whole legion of "underground digital artists" between the ages of 15-18 who could do a better job of it if you know where to look.

Mmmmm as you said IYO.

But IMO - I like it :)

If you don't like it, don't surf on his mirror - it's slower here anyway ;) no offense..

Err wait..do you mean the top ad logo or the bottom footer one? I was talking about the footer one, which btw, is okay..

I was referring to the 'top' ad on WHT

I told you this before, but you don't read right ;) , the mirror is slower becuase it is using the Database at Above, instead of locally, it was create for people that have issues connecting to Above, not for those who have not.

CRego3D - It's nice and clear - comes over very well, the reason I originally posted was because it had 'impact' on me. Which in advertising is spot on!

Ick. That's utterly horrible. Too bad WHT doesn't use a database which does proper database-like stuff like maintaining correctness and performance while distributed over a high-latency network.

You must be thinking of the wrong person, because I never read that..nor you never told me that directly? Anyway..I didn't know that, so sorrry :)

Uh..there is no other choice if he's doing it because some people might have trouble connecting to the normal server

Eh? A proper implementation would have database processes running on both servers, each with a local copy of all data; queries would be performed on the local copy, while transactions would (of course) be broadcast.

I can see your point, I'll ask Matt if that's possible :)

It isn't... with mysql. Thus my comment "WHT doesn't use a database which does proper database-like stuff".

Oh, I thought it was already being done that way......but yes it is :) It's called "replication"

As Chicken pointed out, this is entirely off topic; but Mysql replication is not proper database functionality: If updates are performed on two "replicated" mysql servers simultaneously, the databases will be left in an inconsistant state.

Umm. . . er. . . thought so. Then it turned religious about databases.

Nice logo, Carlos! I said: NICE LOGO!

Gonna have to turn the hose on you boys if you don't play nice :D

I like the logo. A little 'heavy' looking for my tastes, but well executed.
