Does anyone know if it's true that having its own dedicated IP address can hep a site in search engine listings?

ASPCode.net 01-23-2002, 09:25 AM While it was a while since I last was into search engine optimization and door pages and stuff this is what I think: - in general no. The spiders typically work like any browser and therefore handle virtual hosting sites just like any site - but, with regards to penalties some engines ban sites based on ip. So say another hosting customer on the same ip as you spams the search engines and therefore gets banned this could affect you as well Anyway, I think the best oplace to ask such a question would be searchengineforums.com whtpost 01-23-2002, 02:40 PM Thank you for suggesting searchengineforums. It was helpful. OMC 01-23-2002, 09:22 PM You can also check this site Virtualpromote.com (http://www.virtualpromote.com) |
