I am a 21 year old programmer who is looking for projects. I was taught coding by Intel in 1999 (actually learned BASIC on an Apple IIe (well, a Laser build Apple IIe) long before that, but actual coding in production environments since 1999).
I currently work full time doing Web Programming for a top 50 liberal arts college. I am not well versed in the nuances of Windows servers and will likely not accept projects that require this sort of knowledge. I am, however, comfortable in Unix like environments.
My languages (and pseudo-languages) include:
java
python
PHP
shell scripting (for many different shells)
xml
xhtml
xslt (and as a result xpath)
xsl:fo
I have experience with most Unix administrative tasks. I have setup a production implementation of uPortal. I also have completed many projects using xslt and xsl:fo to manage single-source publishing. I often write mini CMS systems for different departments in my current position, and have also written a Meta-CMS system for the management of the University website containing over 90,000 documents.
My standard rate is $50/hour, however, I tend to complete work quickly and am obsessed with well written code. I also provide caps on most projects. If my maximum prediction is wrong I will not charge extra for the hours over. I always try to be professional and offer descriptive quotes and invoices.
Thank you for considering me for your programming projects.
