View Full Version : Private Nameservers for ZoneServ

Hey all--

Just signed up for an account with Zoneserv (and avoided server 3 luckily). They offer private nameservers, but someone I must have unchecked the box on signup.

As Gil is on vacation, I've put in a request to turn this on, so it may be a little while. In the meantime,

My question is this: I want that feature enabled. Is it possible that it can be enabled without deleteing my account and starting over? I'd like to get started uploading and getting things going, but if to be able to have private nameservers, the account gets deleted, it would all be for naught. Also... if the change is made to private nameservers, will it automatically default to those private servers when creating new accounts in WHM?

I don't think anyone but Zoneserv can answer your question. The rest of us would just be guessing or saying what we would do; which wouldn't really help you.

You need to contact Zoneserv.

Thanks for the reply. I have contacted them, but nothing yet.

I wasn't sure if WHM/Autopilot & private nameservers was a standard setup that was universal for resellers... and that maybe someone had run across this situation before.

Guess it's hard to say how he's got things set up on his side.

I'll be (im)patiently waiting for Gil to drop by...

There's no 'standard setup that was universal for resellers.' Each does something a different way.

Some provide private nameservers, other's don't. Many (read: most) don't even provide you with billing or automation software, like WHMAP.

There's really no standard when it comes to web hosting, as there are many different operating systems, control panels and billing scripts that you can use.

edit: Why wait impatiently? Why not try and be patient? It's really though for a provider when their client comes into a situation already flustered and impatient.

The sites I'm putting on don't exist yet... no transfer of live sites or anything like that... so it's not a big deal.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not upset for it not working...

I just found a 'cool new toy' (reseller account) and want to play with it, that's all... :P

Guess in todays world of everything being 'instant' it's tough to remember patience...
