Compare

http://www.meemsites.com/

with

http://www.*******************.com/

Are they the same company or who came first? If its a copy, I'd guess the second guy is guilty as the text changes on the images don't look quite right.

Stoner Stoned No doubt the name is banned for some reason. I'm sure a mod will clarify.

It's not an exact copy - Melbourne change the "M" in the logo into a "W".........

Why do people copy?

Is it that hard to come up with your own design or is it sheer f'in lazyness?

If you can't do you own design, you shouldn't be in this business.

Probably a bit of both, and something I can't understand. I also agree with that last statement too... A warez copy of photoshop and Dreamweaver and suddenly they're a web monkey...

The rest, yeah, are no-talent one-person "operations" calling themselves web designers. But as long as people are going to hire designers simply by looking for the cheapest offer without having any conversation that would reveal whether the person they're talking to really has a clue, they'll be around.

Without exception, the copied sites were either done by the site owners themselves or were purchased for a couple hundred dollars or less. Real designers and design firms might not be able to compete at that price level, but if you want a real, original design remember that they take time to create. And you should be willing to pay for that time. If you're not... well, you can always find someone who'll grab a copy of somebody else's site and spend two or three hours making a couple of changes for you.

You know, if I see a site I like, I just email the owner asking if I can emulate parts of it (not copy directly), as I know the design, while not the same, will be inspired by the first design. No one has said no, and people have asked me for the same thing before.

Suggestion: If you like something, ask.

our company was contacted last week for quotes on desiging this site
they needed 3 logos, entire site in a portal / template mode
and wanted 7 advertising logos made

lol

looks like they found other ways to get a site
