Are there hosts out there that offer JSP with a Unix/Linux flavor for reasonable rates?

I am looking for a quality host with low prices for excessive bandwith (since I may just need to pay it hehe), good discounts for yearly purchases, and all that jazz.

And of course, it must have some type of reputation among the forum frequenters! :)

I don't want a Windows based server, I would prefer Unix/Linux because of other scripts I may need to install.

So let me know! Thanks.

As a side note, I found one host that does this.. CWIHost, but the reviews seem on the low side.

I don't need the space, just the JSP and Unix/Linux requirement mainly. I think the space is something I can jump up to (along with bandwith) as long as I find a host that is willing and capable to keep up with the needs of my site on a month by month basis.

Hi,

Try taking a look at servlets.com

they have a listing of jsp/servlet hosts.

Java servlets often don't play nice in a shared environment. That's why most shared hosts don't offer them. If you're going to have a large amount of visitors, it might be best to look into a low-end dedicated server, or a virtual private server for this purpose.

Unfortunately, money won't be made to support that until the site is off the ground. Hopefully I can easily move up to a dedicated server, but until then, I need a host that would be able to satisfy my needs.

GearHost has some nice prices for Windows hosting, but I need Unix/Linux based hosting for other scripts. I'm hoping they announce JSP as a part of their Unix package so that I can sign up with them, but until that happens I'll need suggestions to keep pondering on :)

So if you guys have any (I checked servlets.com by the way, doesn't give enough information on hosts) suggestions, I'd really appreciate them.
