Alright, im looking for a new host for my website and forums (vbulletin). My website has about 560 members, growing constantly every day. There is at least 20 members online 24/7. My total hits per day range from 8000-12000, if my host doesnt crash on me.

Im thinking of going with venturesonline.com, for their v500 plan for 24.95, but i want to make sure it is worth it, and or if there are any other hosting places I am unaware of that could do better.

At the time of this post, my server is currently down. My members have been complaining, because well, this host sucks. Its slow, and has too many downtimes. When it gets back up, hopefully you can see how it looks.

Hi,

For the amount of system resource you're going to need to run that board sounds high. For $25 you aren't going to get quality service at all. Double it to $50 and a decent host will accomodate you with a nice, fast server that isn't loaded.

If something is important to you, it's worth paying extra to take care of it.:cool:

Yep, for your board, a dedicated would be just about right. Something small and not too powerful.

You guys are kidding, right?

For a board with constant 20 visitors online, a shared account should be enough, right?

I guess he doesn't need a dedicated quite yet. But still, his board is quite busy and sounds like it can only grow. He will still need a sympathetic host though.

At least he isn't using UBB. ;)

i might work out a plan with a few other sites to get a dedicated server....not sure yet though.
